THudd has joined Derby from HH HUDDLESTONE MAKES RAMS MOVE Tom Huddlestone has completed his move from Hull to Derby, signing a two-year contract with an option for a further year. Sky Sports News HQ understands the fee to be £2m.
One down, Sissoko and Njie to go. Fazio will endure in the memory as the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time.
This is identical to Nkoudou training with us for a couple of years without actually having been sold. I'd expect Njie to be announced sooner rather than later. And by 'sooner' I mean Marseille's interpretation of the word, which is 'any time this decade'. Sissoko will prove to be an immensely difficult skidmark to shift, mark my words.
The Mail (I know) are claiming that the Fazio fee was appx. £2.5m, so added to the initial loan fee of £1m paid last season, we have made a £4.5m loss on the lumbering walking-disaster.
Sunday social media round up: Latest on Juan Foyth - some reports saying he could be on his way to London in the coming hours to sign for us. Other reports saying he doesn't know Whether the transfer will happen, but has confirmed the club are in negotiations. We're apparently not actively pursuing Pereira or Mawson. We're supposedly keen to get a deal done for Barkley before Wednesday so he can join the squad before we leave for the US.
The papers are fixating on the idea that we won't sign a right back unless they're Portuguese, as not only are we being linked to Ricardo Pareira, but we've also been linked to Cedric Soares and Joao Cancelo in the last couple of days. Cancelo can be ruled out for the obvious reason that, as a Jorge Mendes client, his fee will be grossly inflated and his agent'll be in his ear every June to try and engineer a bigger agent's fee somewhere else (which begs the question why City weren't in for him, given their track record of Mendes' courtesans) while Soares presents an even greater problem: we'll have all those holier than thou Southampton fans back on our board for months on end...
And will be significantly more expensive and IMHO likely deliver little more than the aforementioned waste of space.
That's going a bit far imo...more like ... At least Barkley can control a ball while running but will then over play and lose the ball before waving his hands around like Robbie Keane!
I'm not sold on Barkley by any means. But I was one of Dembele's biggest critics on here (and to anyone who would listen in the real world), I wanted him out of the club. Now Poch has turned him around and he's one of the first names on the team sheet when fit. So Barkley would be a gamble but if he applies himself, then I think Poch could turn the lad around too. But is he a gamble we need to take for that price, rather than strengthening our depth in defence and at striker?
My greatest fear at the moment is that the Walker funds are going to be ploughed into a ridiculous fee for Barkley.
Lovely. Thanks for the lone memory of THAT turn and cross for Lamela against City. Now, on to Sissoko. Where did I put the toilet brush....
Looks like we're clearing out the dead-wood early on. Just Sissoko to go, now. Hopefully, the sales of Njie and Fazio signifies that Poch/Levy are close to decent replacements.
Talk seem to suggest that we've accumulated 80m+ on sales so far. Come on spurs, pull off a worldie signing that no one has any idea about!
