Hull City are seeking a loan deal for one of Liverpool’s promising youth stars as a small favour for allowing Andrew Robertson to join the Reds. Ryan Kent has emerged as a target for Leonid Slutsky’s side ahead of their first season back in the Championship, following their relegation from the Premier League, according to the Liverpool Echo. With Robertson closing in on an £8million move to Anfield, the Tigers are hoping this will help them in their efforts to land the winger. Kent spent the whole of last season in England’s second tier where he enjoyed a productive loan spell with Barnsley, but has recently returned to Liverpool for pre-season as he looks to prove himself to Jurgen Klopp. The 20-year-old has continued to reaffirm a desire to fight for his place on Merseyside, although the likelihood is that he will be sent out on another temporary deal along with Sheyi Ojo, who is a reported target for both Newcastle and Middlesbrough. While a loan move would be a valuable opportunity for him to gain additional first team experience, it would be interesting to see how much progress he could also make were he to stay with Liverpool and play an entire season in the U23s side. Doing so has already proven to be a useful stepping stone with the likes of Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold having earned opportunities in the senior team via this route. Wednesday’s friendly against Tranmere served as a nice reminder of what a raw and exciting talent Kent is, suggesting he is more than worthy of the time to impress his manager.
Kent might think a couple league cup games might help him but reality is if a loan to hull will help get robertson i reckon we will do it. It offsets whatever fee hull wanted and gets Kent some more value on his eventual selling fee too.
Odds slashed to 1/6 on Liverpool signing Keita The odds have been slashed on Liverpool signing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita this summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ prices. Sky Bet priced the Merseyside giants as emphatic 1/6 favourites on Saturday afternoon to capture the Bundesliga midfielder before the transfer window shuts on 3 September. Liverpool are the only club listed in the betting odds, with the only other market offered that of Keita staying at Leipzig, which is now priced at a relatively distant 7/2.
Rangnick 'threat to Keita deal' please log in to view this image We've not used this photo yet today Naby Keita’s move to Liverpool edges ever nearer. The Guinea’s journalistic compatriots are pretty close to the player, and one in particular has been close to the move. And he has stated the stumbling block is RB Leipzig’s sporting director, Ralf Rangnick. http://www.dailypost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/live-liverpool-transfer-news-oxlade-13337398
No way is Mbappe staying at Monaco now. They're selling everyone... Lemar looks set for Arsenal. Mendy to city. Fabinho to Utd? Plus the others that have already gone. Basically the players have done what Mahrez and Vardy should have done when Leicester won the PL. Realised it was a one off and got a big move.
Liverpool are hopeful of a breakthrough on contract negotiations with midfielder Emre Can. The Germany international is ready to commit his future to Liverpool when he returns from an extended break following his involvement in the Confederations Cup. Can, who has been on holiday in Los Angeles and Bodrum, Turkey, has just 12 months remaining on his current deal but is close to agreeing terms despite interest from Juventus. They do not want to lose 23-year-old Can though who can cover a number of http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...hope-Emre-signs-new-deal-Keita-bid-upped.html
Some official news outlets posted it and then twitter went crazy (as usual)... The rumour was he either failed the medical or Monaco blocked the move at the last minute, so it wasn't definitive. He removed all the Chelsea pics from his twitter account after the news too. All a bit odd.
Glad you popped along TBH mate, no-one really knows anything about him, other than he's quick and improving. What's he like? I think a lot of people are assuming he won't be our first choice yet anyway.
Most are meh......my thinking is Klopp sees something more than a 2nd choice LB and thinks he can develop Robertson. What can you tell us?
Klopp on Salah adapting to how Liverpool defend... "He had no idea how to defend normally, usually because he was not involved. He had two days of training, then Paris, then back here so we thought we should use him. He is really used to a completely different way of defending." Looks like he'll be staying behind for a detention!!
Honestly.... he's top of championship/bottom 6-7 pl player. I'm amazed klopp thinks he's Liverpool standard I was going to say if he improves your team then your further from the title than I thought but as you've said he'll be second choice then he won't be a bad squad player. He's fairly quick but as is fashionable for a defender these days defending isn't his best attribute. Playing in a better squad might improve him and prove me totally wrong
The problem is we only have Milner as our other option and he's not a natural left back, so this transfer doesn't really make sense unless we sign another one, and I don't think we will tbh. Moreno is even worse, but he's being sold. Amazingly for about 15mil. Well hopefully, but we did turn down 13mil for him. It's a strange one for sure, and the overall opinion seems to be very much meh!
