I hope the game at City has not taken its toll mentally. Brenden looked exhausted in the sky interviews after the game
I think it really hit home about just how tough this season is going to be and the work that's going to have to be put in by everyone just to survive. He looked jaded to me as well. Like us, he perhaps harboured hopes that we might have squeezed a result which would have been huge for confidence. Not to be but now we know that every game we play in our own mini-league is going to be like a cup final. So bring it on. The lads are well capable of beating teams in and around our level and our first win, hopefully next up against Wigan, will see the sparkle return to his eyes.
Yea he looked tired. Thankfully, we won't have too many games kicking off at 8pm! We do seem to be putting a lot of pressure on the Wigan game, I'm a bit worried that if we don't win, or lose there will be a huge negative feeling around the club. Remember it's our first ever Home premiership game
Been reviewing the recording from Monday .... there were times there where we looked the part, not a lot of penetration, but we looked like we were at the right party. Mancini was making adjustments through that first half and he didn't look too happy on all the close-ups I saw. This is another thing ... the game coaching at this level and mid-game adjustments are going to be something that we're going to have to battle with. It will be interesting to see how Rogers raises his game in this regard. Sousa would have loved this part of it.
Betting on Swansea v Wigan Although Swansea City were outclassed earlier this week in their first ever Premiership game at Manchester City, they certainly weren’t disgraced and you can bet that Brendan Rodgers side will see this upcoming match as their perfect opportunity to record their first win of the season. Wigan on the other hand will have been disappointed to draw at home to another set of Premiership new boys Norwich City so how have these results affected the betting for this game? Currently, betting on a win for Swansea will get you a best price of 6/5 with Stan James, Paddy Power and Sky Bet, while a gamble on Wigan to secure all three points is available at 13/5 with Bet 365. If you think that a draw is in the offing then a bet in this respect will return 12/5 with Sky Bet. So Swansea are slight favourites and that’s about right. While Wigan have the benefit of experience at this level, they aren’t a strong side at the moment and after narrowly avoiding relegation last season, they are a popular bet for the drop this time. Swansea on the other hand will have that promotion momentum, despite their reverse on Monday night and with home advantage, our recommendation is to bet on a win for the Welshman at the weekend. If you want to make that a little more interesting, you can extend those odds with a correct score bet and our suggestion here is to go for a 2-1 home win which is available at 17/2 with Unibet.
I am not suggesting we were disgraced. My concern is with the build up from sky Monday also the Welsh media build up the pressure was huge i hope we don’t suffer a hangover from Monday. We are more than capable of recording our first win Saturday. PS pal I would never bring my self to bet against the Swans.
Don't forget that Brendan's dad is likely to die in the next few weeks, so that must be putting added pressure on him. It's a lot to deal with and also to have to run a team, do interviews, etc.
