More than a re-jig if their stadium deal gets done over (or whatever they might do with it) by uefa.

harrysdisciple.... good shout. he's hardly a barrell of laughs!...

OnlyOneDB.. would you or would you not agree that he is a better player than any of our current strikers?.. if your answer is yes, then he can only improve our squad and chances of reaching C.L. who cares who he has played for and why they want him out! he is an EX-gunner and i bet even you would smile if he scored the winner at the Emirates or The Etihad!!... c'mon just a little smile, for all of US?

For months we have all recognised our need for a striker who can play up top on his own, someone who is tall but mobile and can score all types of goals.

Yes he's an ex-gooner and loan signings don't always work out but in my mind he is the best we can hope for right now.

Realistically who else is out there that we could attract and afford who is better than Adebayor?

He's actually the forward that I suggested would be perfect for the lone striker role in our current system, back on 606.
If Redknapp can get his head in the right place, and his experience with players like Di Canio, Yakubu and Kanu suggests that he might be able to, then Adebayor could be monstrous for us.

As for selling shirts, a winner against the Goons would soon solve that! <laugh>

If we sign him, you can claim to be ITK <laugh>

Anyone can claim to be ITK, King.

Just make up some stuff, based on transfer rumours or join-the-dots journalism (need a left-back? Think of a suitable, available candidate, then suggest that he's being monitored) and then say that we're buying Player A.
If that falls through, then say that there were some complications and that we've altered our targets.
Suggest someone else, perhaps using some stupid, cryptic bullshit to disguise who you mean, then try again.

PNP, are you saying that some ITK aren't to be listened to as they may not be 100% reliable? <laugh>

Put like this, it's not a million miles away from Mido's loan deal - he had a reputation for acting up, but the laon deal meant he was always on his best behaviour for us (which he wasn't for the Egypt national side...) and upped his game, so it could work out well.

However, when Mido was permanently signed, he started to slack off.

If this is a season-long stop-gap measure, it could pay off - but we need to start looking for a long-term solution up front sooner rather than later, and I don't mean Coulibaly...

Has anybody thats cited these "attitude problems" actually looked into just what the problems were...doesn't look like to me, just typing out media crap.

At the Goons he spoke out at the the problems they faced there not winning things, not signing experience etc..was he wrong?

At City he was signed by Hughes, who then gets the bullet, and is not the new managers cup of tea so to speak.

I think he'll be a great signing, whether its for a season or longer.

Given his well-documented fallings-out with coaches at Monaco, Arsenal, Man City and for Togo, it's not "typing out media crap", it's noting a theme with every team he's played for.

At both Arsenal and City, he was also butting heads with numerous members of the squad.

Remember we signed Keane the 1st time, he was younger and had been at more clubs and apparently he couldn't settle anywhere and ended up scoring over 100goals for us.

Adebayor could be a great season and if we keep him and VDV fit then we have a very good strikeforce, possibly the 3rd best in the PL.

At Arsenal that was after the 4-4! <laugh>

Imo, the rest is the medias's take making mountains from molehills, I've listened to the player, he's just passionate about winning, and wants to play, nowt wrong with that. <ok>

From memory, Notso, he was mostly butting heads with Bendtner. But, to be fair, I suspect there might be a lengthy queque of people who would like to "butt heads" with Bendtner. <laugh>

This deal is not filling me with much enthusiasm to be honest, while Adebayor is a good player he is far from outstanding. Also I am not keen on loan deals and combined with Adebayors Goon past and mercenary attitude, I am not that excited.

It would be refreshing if the mercenary in Adebayor disappeared and he joined permanently on less money....... but we all know that will never happen.

I am very excited about this deal. Especially after watching this again . . .

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13363694.stm

Any 'attitude' he has is nothing that Harry can't handle, in my opinion. I think he'd do well for us.

    I hope it happens.

    Then Cahill.

    Then Diarra.

Given Spurs are competing with teams with much deeper pockets, the game has to be to try to get players for much less than they're worth, and/or sell them for much more than they're worth. So this deal looks good (if it happens) especially the part about Man City paying half his wages (if that's true!). There's no other way they could get a striker of his ability, especially a tall one. The chance that he'll be locker room poison is just a risk that has to be taken. On the bright side, he must understand he needs a big season and an untroublesome one to get the kind of money he wants.

I feel I should not talk about this following the countless false reports that have appeared during this window but I have to. I am to be honest getting quite excited about the prospect of this deal. Just the type of player we so badly need and one who could propel Spurs into serious contention for the positions that matter.

Spurs excelled at producing chances last season they just did not have the player to take advantage of them. This could be one of the worst decisions that Man City have made.

    I'll drink to that <ale>
