Well name calling is a bit uncalled for. Different people have different opinion, that's why it's fun to post on a forum.

I tried my best to explain my logic above, i.e. Kimi is 0.199s behind Lewis, Vettel is normally 0.3s quicker than Kimi, so if Vettel was his normal amount in front of Kimi then Vettel would be on pole in front of both Kimi and Lewis.

Of course I could doing Kimi a dis-service, and he could of got 100% from the car, but I'll stand by what was my first thought, and Vettel messed up his own lap.

EDIT - I take it back, I was wrong about the gap between Lewis and Kimi. No idea where I got 0.199s from. Sorry.

But still, name calling was uncalled for.

Lewis is not being penalised for blocking! That is a surprise NOT. :)
    Oh well keeps championship interesting.

Think this angle makes it quite clear that he should have been penalised.

No chance it would ever happen though. The stewards are very adverse to giving either championship contender a penalty if they can possibly avoid it.

If you think of it the other way, it makes it a prospect for a good fight tomorrow.

Hoped for what, that he got a penalty?

Why would you 'hope' that he got a penalty?

No harm in making him work for it this weekend against Ferrari, he hasn't got his teammate to fight him either.

I hope Hamilton wins so as we move towards the summer break him and Vettel converge on points.

I'm indifferent to who wins the championship but I would love the last race of the season to be whoever finishes ahead gets the championship.

Hamilton's been unfortunate recently but some of that has been repayed today with that Grosjean incident. Was lucky to get away with it, would have been a little harsh but probably deserved something.

In view of the issues he's had in the last two races, I hardly think he needs to justify having to work a bit harder to try and get a win this weekend.

I also don't believe Ferrari will be half a second a lap off him in race trim.

Max vs Vettel into the first few corners could be tasty. I also expect Ferrari to be much closer in race pace, it's only their quali pace that has dropped off recently since they added those extra oil burn rules. Their race pace should be fine still.

I wonder if the changing track conditions helped Hamilton avoid a penalty. On a dry track, you could check the telemetry and if Grosjean had to break earlier than his previous laps, Hamilton would be penalised. With the track conditions changing, any evidence is less clear cut.

For what it's worth, Grosjean believes he lost three tenths and therefore one position.

Was the lap he was 'impeded' his fastest lap though, as he had time to do another one?

If he subsequently went faster on his next run, him losing 3/10th's on the earlier lap may not be relevant if his later lap was faster.

Grosjeans's first (effected) lap was a 1:29.676, on his second run he improved to 1:29.549.

So I guess it depends on where the "0.3-0.4s lost" comes from. It might just be Grosjean moaning, but equally the Haas team might have data showing that through that mini sector Grosjean was consistently faster than he managed on that lap. I'd love to see the data if it exists, because the stewards apparently did consider telemetry data in making their decision.
