Indeed. People were advocating the signing of Tom Cairney this summer, wasn't he ditched by TWS as a kid?
And, now, years later, he is fulfilling his potential. We weren't relying on him to go from a reject to a 1st team mainstay for a club with supposed Premier League ambitions over the course of 1 summer
It doesn't look like we are now. As far as I can see - if Robbo goes - the only position not covered by someone from the first team squad is left back.
The Allams are incredible spiteful and what is happening is of no surprise to anyone. The problem is what they don't realise is apathy is rife through the fan base nobody really cares. The only people they hurt are the kids they price out and treat like ****. I will go this season but to away games only. I expected (Davies, Tymon) apart for us to lose the players we are have but naively expected a lot of signings. I was concerned about the new manager at the beginning as he brought no backroom staff no assistant with him it felt like a farce from the start. We won't get relegated but will finish in the bottom 6.
Errr....do we have 2 centre halves then? We haven't exactly got a load of strikers either, or wingers
Quite depressing reading this thread isn't it, just seems to be another kick in the balls after another, but at the same time impossible to stay away
Aina and Dawson. I didn't mention 'a load', the fact is as of today you can cover every position - without even resorting to square pegs in round holes - without having to promote someone from the youth team.
Assuming Huddlestone and Robertson are gone, our first team squad listed on the website is down to 23. Four of those aren't currently available due to injury, taking us to 19 (three of which are keepers). Of those 19, seven are youth players who have either a handful of appearances (Keane, Bowen, Luer), to a load of lads with no first team experience at all (with us or anyone else).
I said as of today we can do it. Robertson hasn't left yet And as an aside I don't know who will start in any position today, it's a friendly. Every single summer ever young kids start friendlies with senior players on the bench. FACT.
Dont panic though its all under control they say hahahah!!!!! Getting to the point where past giving a ****, might start going down to watch hall rd or something
Well theres not much left to strip now, so hopefully theyl **** off as i cant see them bank rolling us especially with the coming **** attendances etc
As he's probably ****ing off anyway and comes across as a bit of a knob, I'd make Elmo play left back with Lenihan right back. Or maybe Clucas left back. We've certainly got enough midfielders to not rely on Sam there*. *Assuming he's still in Portugal...
Ehab just stinks of incompetence. In years gone by I'd be counting down the days to the first day of the season with excitement and anticipation but now it feels a sense of dread due to the shambles from those running the show. I've been in a job before where those above me were making poor decisions and treating staff poorly and I was just glad to get out. Wouldn't blame the lads for leaving but it's a sad state of affairs.
