    2.10 Ascot- YALTA- 18/1 ew

A huge price! Has some decent form to his name at his very best will appreciate the stiff track and a fast pace can't see him out the front 3

    3.05 York- Judicial- 9/2

a horse insome serious form and I'm sure they haven't got to the bottom of him yet and looks a winning machine

    3.05 York- UAE PRINCE - 9/1

Although drawn in the car park pretty much he is a good thing tomorrow - Varian come out and said this has always been the plan and in his maiden he was sent off odds on fav to Ulysses only 4lb higher than his last win and ran ok at ascot in listed company got to be surely better than this field and is a huge price

When Time Change won a fair looking Newbury 16 days ago Juliet Capulet was fourth, that was her second run, Sukhovey was 3/4l back in 5th and The Mums was out with the washing. The latter two were on debut.
Tomorrow the three are in opposition again and the odds of success are Juliet Capulet 14/1, Sukhovey 40/1, The Mums 22/1. This isnt surprising when you look at who trains them, Michael has never had a 2yo winner. I cannot see any of the three winning but I know which of these fillies I would have an EW punt on.

What a cracking race the Darley July Cup is. The sprint of the year. The unbeaten Caravaggio meets his elders for the first time. It is hard to overlook him but I just feel the older ones will get the better of him tomorrow. One of my favourites Limato must be in with a chance, as must Tasleet but I think The Tin Man will come out on top again. The one I would have gone for is Brando at 33/1. I'm just worried about the fact that last time out he broke a blood vessel. I would have thought he wouldn't be running if not fully recovered so a small ew bet on him advised just in case.

Had my fingers burnt this week slightly but I'm going back to the well/barrow for one last punt.

    LARAAIB - 240 Ascot - 2/1

With my sketchy form I'm not confident but really feel I should be. Just looks one of the best handicapped horses around. Three year olds have a good record in the race and he'a the only one entered. Yes there are a couple of worthy competitors towards the head of the weights, but I just think his form and handicap mark stand out and make this one the bet of the day.

I fancy Harry Angel in the July cup. The field could give him an easy lead which could be hard to peg back, front runners do well at this course.

Carravaggio is the joke bet of the day at the odds given that he is unbeaten thanks to winning two Royal Ascot races against good opponents and four races against trees in Ireland. Limato won a weaker race last year but it is not impossible that he could return to that form this afternoon. Obviously Harry Angel has it to do as he needs to reverse Ascot running with the favourite, just as Tasleet has to reverse Ascot running with The Tin Man. With only ten facing the starter, the first three will probably come from amongst those named but despite the temptingly large odds about The Tin Man, I will just watch.

Despite there being coverage of three meeting today on terrestrial TV, there is a real dearth of good betting opportunities. Too many big fields to draw a line through to start with and several short-priced favourites that have managed to find uncompetitive events to pick up at Ascot, Newmarket and York; however, I have narrowed the Newmarket 2:50 down to two – Mountain Angel, who has not run since finishing second at Doncaster (with subsequent winner Mojito behind), and the winner that day AFAAK, who has subsequently been a respectable seventh in the Britannia when drawn on the wrong side.

For what it is worth, I think that Judicial may well find the few pounds of improvement that he requires in the York 4:15 but it was only a three-runner race that he won at Beverley last time.
