Considering a job offer. Had an approach from a Headhunting company, not RHC. I have been with my current company for 33 years and have not had to many bad times. I have to decide over the weekend. Pension is better. PHI is given, don't have that now. Car is better, Audi against Ford Kuga I have now Salary is better Bonus system similar. But should I stay where I am as I am comfortable here and pay, etc is good. Decisions, decisions.
Job has an A4 Avant, I prefer an estate as I have to lug my youngest girls stuff to Leeds Uni. They have said there might be an A6 available as some guy is about to retire and rather than pay a penalty with the contract hire company I could have it. Spec will be loaded with sat nav, heads up display, etc, but it will be a diesel model as I will be doing a high mileage. The car is not really an issue with me
Missus will just be happy she has more money to spend. 2 of my kids are working, 26 and 28, youngest still at uni. Mortgage just gets paid every month anyway
Tourers are badass, I'd get the A4 and **** em over by gettin the new car on joining, plus the A6 is like a boat and not that much more space
Lol.... Is it same "job" but better stuff. And you have the love of work? Is it same type of work and do you like it? Or are you a don't give a **** kind of guy...jobs a job...not a judgement lol just if so then unless there's a risk of stability at new place them maybe a no brainer? If current job more stable future wise? .... I've just left a place after 18 years because I realised I just didn't like the work...tje people I liked have gone and they were doing decent VS...scary as **** but I don't have wife, kids and mortgage... It's why I'm asking the questions .
Exactly what I do now, but for our leading rivals. In my game company's pinch each other's qualified staff on a regular basis. The crunch will come if I resign and then my current company start offering me more to stay. The current company has changed a fair bit over the past two years and maybe I am having a slightly belated mid-life crisis and just want to have a bit of a change. The better pension and salary increase will help as well as I will probably retire in 7/8 years
Ha! Then why not...my sis has done the same a few times...sometimes the original realises they can't lose you and matches or improves or forces you to jump. Change is good though (imo) Long as you aren't risking anything serious and you enjoy the work.....
Side note...not contradicting you G...you really like your work don't you? Just going off previous convos
The risk is will you end up hating your new boss or co-workers or is there any risk to new company business. Really it depends on age and if you think what 5 or 7 years of career left? Is worth the risk.. 33 years is a looking time in one place. I would suggest you broach this offer with current employer and seek a counter offer. If current work offer nothing then you have a clear signal. If they offer you a raise then you can stay if you wish and it's a win?
