Hey fellow Mackems, just thought I'd say a quick hello from the other side of the world. Read the boards here religiously every day (Sid you're a legend) but wan't to start contributing a bit more. Well the story is I've moved to South Korea to teach English, just as Ji Dong Won moves the other way. Well all the Korean kids I teach, rate Ji very highly and the great thing is, there's now this connection between the 1000 kids I teach and SAFC because of this and my relentless plugging of our club. Don't think i'm quite SAFC's ambassador for Asia yet, but every little helps lol. It got me thinking though about getting in touch with Sir Niall and asking if he might donate a Ji Dong Won shirt to my school, which could be a prize for one of the kids for some good work or whatever. In return of course I'll keep spreading the word. Do any of you know the best way to get in touch with the big fella? Is it just best to try through the SAFC website? Anyway I'll be sat here at 8pm, Saturday Night with a few bottles of Soju (deadly Korean Liquer) for the revenge. Can't wait!
Welcome aboard mate...I would just email the club and basically tell them what you have told us...You never know: it might just do the trick..
Welcome mate, being called a legend then listening to Horsewell on Real Radio, I can see what you mean, we both talk ****.
Welcome me'self back too, Korean. (Been off posts a long time, but read often as can). I'll be glued to telly here at 6pm. Gives me 2 more hours than yer'self to drink & celebrate, eh?
Get the students to write to Ji in Korean and maybe a small gift of something he might be missing, then you address-send in to him c/o The Stadium of Light - I hope you have all seen his first game and his lively runs!
I can relate to that Korean. Soju is deadly stuff. When I spent time in Seoul and Muju, I would drink Soju as a pre-load before the clubs in Hongdae. 2 bottles of that and you are well and truely on your way. I used to drink it with this grape drink stuff to take the bite out of it, but after a couple you can drink it straight. You would feel it the next morning though :S Have a good time in Korea, and a word of advice.. if you go out and your white, the Korean will automatically think your an american. Best to set this straight if you aren't.. your time there will get alot easier and better when they don't think your a Sepo!
