But there is no doubt that he is not the player he was here...could be age, but probably more that we brought the full extent of his talents out of him.
I agree completely. Clearly the journalist in question hasn't watched as much of Lambert as you or I, but he's not wrong when saying that Rickie would help Rangers if they did want to play a more direct game.
What I originally pointed out is that the article is trotting out the usual media perspective on Rickie Lambert. I have seen 'direct approach' and 'Rickie Lambert' in the same sentence more times than I care to recall. In all those years where Lambert displayed far more than a 'direct approach' for Saints especially, the media barely changed their opinion on him. They even compared him to ex-teammate Grant Holt [now there's a player where direct approach might be appropriate]. It has been the subject of debate on here before. Hence, my opinion that they can't have seen the guy play, but just read the odd other article. They probably even have no idea that he was a midfielder before he was a striker.
Milan: Signed: Borini Kessie Rodriguez Musacchio Bonucci Conti Calhanoglu Andre Silva Bids for: Belotti Bigila
Yeah Milan undeniably the "winners" of the transfer window so far. Be interesting to see if they can run Juve close next year, I imagine it will be another year before that but should get them up there in Serie A again
Swansea re Sigurdsson: "We will not be bullied or forced into a decision until a club meets our valuation of the player, no matter whether they believe they have an agreement with the player. "Any such agreement would obviously be in contravention of Premier League legislation." The little clubs are getting tough and standing their ground. An implied threat to report to PL? I think we may have started something.
Keep saying no RB! Would be hilarious if, come September, Solanke and Salah are Liverpools only signings.
All a bit strange, last year they spent about £20m, now a big takeover and this season they're up to about £125m.
You're preaching to the choir. Though, idk why you care about what some no mark journalist has to say about a player that they're unfamiliar with. Also, my Norwich supporting mate always told me that Grant Holt is (was) much more than a target man, and from what I remember he was more than decent technically. Those comparisons with Rickie were tiresome but had quite a lot of credence.
It will be good to see Milan doing well again though, doesn't seem right them being 7th/8th in Serie A.
Perisic getting closer to joining Utd. I would laugh if the Martial thing is true --------------- Milan have made a bid for Sanches. €5m one year loan with €40m to make it permanent. (Di Marzio)
