And this is why we shouldn't sell players early in the window. See what the market prices are before we rush to sell players like Mane on the cheap. At least this season we have learnt that much.
Probably less than we got for him as he would've only had a year left. I would liken it to what Everton end up getting for Barkley who is in a similar situation both club/player/contract wise to we were when selling Mane, only difference (albeit a potentially key one) is the sort of club being interested in Barkley might be lower than Liverpool
I don't get why City bought Walker. He's a good full back, but hardly one that you would think a manager who likes to play his full backs as defensive midfielders would go for.
City are going to be great to watch this year, if Pep can't win the league with this side then he really will be put in the fraud category. Ironically I think the perfect signing for them would be VVD. My dream signing for Saints, Dani Ceballos, is on the verge of a move to Real Madrid after winning player of the tournament in the U21 Euros. Wanted us to make a move for him last summer and seems the boat has sailed now
Barcelona have signed Nelson Semedo from Benfica for €30m. Should end any interest (if there ever actually was any) in Cedric
£9M for one of the so-called best English players of the modern era. That evaluation is fairly close to my own, tbh. I would have said £8-10M at a push. I would have thought one should make it fashionably higher than that, but I don't. In other click-bait, it's said that Rickie Lambert might be being considered by Rangers in Scotland. Apparently, Rickie would give them the option of a more direct approach.! Did anyone ever watch the guy play apart from us.? http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/07/1...-rickie-lambert-now-a-free-agent-to-ibrox-th/
If Walker is worth £50m, I'm starting ot wonder how much I might be worth.......could be at least £1.5m.....just becuase of the English-player-premium
Chris Hughton saying he doesn't expect to do a lot more business. Umm....nice having you here for the season chaps....
Are you pretending we didn't use Rickie's physical attributes in a big way, especially in the lower leagues? Of course he's more than that, but he is also useful for a team that wants to have that option.
No I'm not pretending. I'm also not choosing to ignore the fact that he was much more than that. In fact 'direct approach' was perhaps one of the smallest parts of his game.
