Depends. The majority of those under the age of 20 are owned by the big 4 or 5 Champions league clubs and pop up all over the league regularly on loan. The sad thing is they rarely get a chance to develop into first team players at the clubs they belong to although it is amusing when they come back several years later at vast expense.

Our so called "enforcer" - perhaps the change of air and scenery will do him good?

Report: Celtic in talks with 25-year-old enforcer with bags of PL

Steven Caulker has held talks with Celtic and is set for a reunion with former manager Brendan Rodgers, according to a report.

The Mirror claims that after being left out of QPR’s squad for their pre-season tour, the 25-year-old enforcer has been training hard in a bid to get himself fit for a new challenge.

Caulker has played under Rodgers before, after he moved from Spurs to Swansea on loan in July 2011, but things didn’t work out for him in Wales.

He made 26 appearances for Swansea across all competitions, but the player admitted to regretting leaving Spurs when he recently went public about his depression.

His mental problems were linked to his drinking and gambling, and the former international – who scored in his only appearance for England – said that at his lowest he considered committing suicide.

He’s desperate for another chance to salvage his career and Rodgers could be the man to offer him salvation.

QPR will be happy to get rid of the player who is said to be one of their biggest earners and he has one year left on his deal with the West London club.

Caulker has extensive Premier League experience with Liverpool, Tottenham, Cardiff and Swansea.
In other Celtic transfer news, the club is keeping close tabs on this 23-year-old free agent as clubs make offers.

So playing for a bigger club will solve all his problems. Is QPR so bad that it made him depressed to the point he can't actually play football?

Probably. He would not be the first player to turn up at our door having forgotten how to play.

As already mentioned in posts above, it's not been that busy for many other clubs so far in this summer transfer window.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/transfers

Yes I agree it's frustrating the lack of activity so far, but maybe lessons have finally been learned and we are keeping things quiet. Once players start coming home from their two weeks in Spain or wherever then negotiations will start and four new defenders plus a striker who can score start being unenvied?

Or am I just dreaming and deluded?<doh><whistle>

My other theory is perhaps this quiet window is due to Brexit fears...<laugh>

    Have a nice weekend everyone<cheers>

    Up the Ranger's<ok>

    Peace!
