    Good shout with the crisps.
With him playing alongside Stones, a lot of City fans will think they are in the pub when they read the team sheet.

Have to disagree with this and agree with your fellow spuds. Trippier is a downgrade on Walker. At most Trippier is better when you are attacking teams who aren't going to attack because as you say, crossing wise and end product he is fantastic and better than Walker.

Everything else though, dominating the opposition, pace, technically and even defensively i would give that all to walker. Walkers few average parts of his game (especially after his improvement under poch) is at most his crossing and lack of focus/positioning which he doesn't even need to have really in his wing back role and i thought he was fantastic in the 3-4-3 formation pochy came up with.

I don't think you will miss Walker too much in the games against the bottom half of the table, it's against the big teams when you need his athleticism and when Trippier isn't crapping his pants against a pacey winger that you will miss him imo.

Also you strengthened City who were desperate especially since Alves sacked them off

Couldn't give a toss about the fee, really good move for us and strengthens us considerably
With Mendy due in the next day or so we've sorted out our main problem of last season as our full backs were awful

In terms of Trippier, there's two scenarios I can think of

1.) If we sign Pereira (or whoever)
Trippier is the exact player we need, as he's solid enough that he can be called on while New RB is bedding in, plus he has a couple of seasons worth of experience rotating in and out of the team so knows what is expected

2.) If we think KWP is the future
...this is when we get nervous, because while Trippier is solid enough to be called upon, KWP is obviously a raw talent and rotating those two is a reason to be worried

You've just upset Pablo Maffeo. He's crying, somewhere.

In a rare break from the norm, I actually agree with you.

Trippier has shone (so far) against bottom half teams who turned up at the Lane looking like deer in the headlights. There is no doubt that he is one of the best crossers of the ball in the entire league, but until he is proven against the very best, I will be cacking myself every time we play a team with pace down the flanks who aren't afraid to attack us.

It seems a number of fans have forgotten that last season, Kyle made the likes of Hazard, Sanchez and De Bruyne look bang average. Trippier is miles away from that level.

As for the fact that we have strengthened City...that is kind of unavoidable as Kyle was never going to leave the PL so it was either leave him to rot on the bench or cash in now when his stock has never been higher.

As I said at the time when we sold Modric and then Bale a year later, how we invest said cash will define how happy I am with this deal. If come kick off on the 13th of August we are still pissing about looking for a replacement and remain without proper competition for Kane, I will be livid. £50m can solve both of those issues (Pereira and Itchy Nachos), and I would very much like us to now get a move on.

Knowing us, however, we'll use the money to commission scientists to clone a left footed Sissoko.

Depends how the 50 million gets spent...we will miss the positives of K Walker's games...but our team is more than that alone. How badly did we do in his absence? I'm not going to act like the team is in tatters because we sold the right back.

I`m not happy with this sale at all, the only raw pace in our squad has now been sold to a rival, a rival who are desperate for home grown players and full backs, I would rather we told them to fack right off.

You would hope a top quality replacement has already been lined up, because starting the season with Trippier and a 20 year rookie as RB choices would be a massive downgrade of the best defensive unit in the PL.

Trippier has been a good player rotating with Walker, especially going forward against the poorer teams who just sit back and do not put him under pressure defensively, but he looks weak up against pacey forwards like Martial for eg.

I suppose we will have to trust Poch on this one, but I can not believe we are willing to strengthen a rival.

Something else to consider: we've still got the £20.5m from the Bentaleb/Carroll sales in the bank as well, and that's before talking about the TV money.

The reason I bring this up is because I've fixated on the £32m release clause for Jean Michael Seri...

That's my only negative lingering feeling...that he has gone to a rival.

Losing Stephen Carr was probably a bigger blow at the time. We didn't recover from that for a while and got bugger all for him.

Mauricio Pochettino turned Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne and Luke Shaw into players that cost serious money and who the purchaser would want a refund on. Let's not get silly about this. 3 years ago if we'd been told Kyle walker would go on to be the world's most expensive defender, we'd have needed a trip to the cock clinic.

It's not a coincidence Bri....Poch got the best out of Walker.

Pep doesn't do defence...good luck Walker, who has been purchased based on his electric pace more so than his defensive qualities....which are there but only if part of a fantastic defence. the proof is in the pudding and we have had the best defence in the league for 2 years running and a keeper in the top 2 in that time aswell.

Lets face it, me at 58 years old weighing 138 kilos would have strengthened your squad. Perhaps Walker is looking at the long term. Within 12 months he would have been bench material at Tottenham, he might get as much as three years a Citeh.

If we sold Sissoko to a rival would you be upset?

I remember Pochettino warning us that we must trust him when we sell players, and that it's always a club decision. I guess this is exactly what he was talking about.

In Poch I trust. (But, I have my fingers crossed behind my back.)

It will take three signings to relieve my stress. Itchy Nachos, this right back fella who looks like a Rose for the right, and decent cover for Dembele. An AM on top of that would be superb. Even if it's Barkley. (Maybe not if it's Barkley, I'd be crossing my fingers again.)

I tell you what. If Poch managed to ride this season and end up above the major competition again he will have proved a lot.

I don't fancy Lemar in an Arsenal shirt against Trippier though, I must say. It's about to get scary.
