I wasn't overly impressed with Roger in week one. Very much impressed with him so far in week two!

Whoever gets to the final between Cilic and Querrey will give the other finalist more than a match. An inspired Cilic may just click on the day, while Sam's big serving will keep him in the match for quite a while. I know where you are coming from. It is not going to involve two of the big four. And to think Cilic is the youngest at 28!! So at least the Under 30 brigade have one finalist.

I always have the Wimbledon results page open and suddenly noticed that the Berdych/Djokovic match had disappeared. It's listed as a Berdych win after a retirement. Going to check the BBC page now.

Blimey. Who'd have thought we'd have the Semi finalists we have! And that's Fed through very comfortably indeed. Some exquisite play. The most naturally talented player I've ever seen.

Great timing Roger. Now that I've peeled myself off the ceiling (today's results could hardly have been better), I can go straight into watching Hampshire!

The best tactic that RF employed this year was to opt out of the clay court season. It has left him refreshed. After this, what is the betting he will play only one tournament in the US/Canada before the US Open, and then maybe play in only two of the indoor tournaments to close the season. Good chance to pick up the overseas Sports Personality if he win Wimbledon and the US Open despite the presence of the "Greatest" in the London Stadium in August.

    Yep.
Even injured Murray could, and maybe should, have won in 3 sets.

Ongoing elbow injury. Presumably 'tennis' elbow.

I have always been aware of tennis elbow, but never had the misfortune to suffer from it........until now, and boy is it painful.
Completed two courses of anti inflammatory tablets and had two weeks holiday, with no signs of improvement.
A bit worried to read the following - "An episode of tennis elbow will usually last between six months and two years. However, the majority of people (90%) will make a full recovery within a year." :emoticon-0101-sadsm
It doesn't help that my work involves an element of manual handling.

I think Murray and Djokovic would both be sensible to follow the example of Federer (and to a lesser extent Nadal) and cut back the amount they play. Murray's had a decent run as world number 1 now so he doesn't have anything to prove there. Winning Slams should be his focus now. Take time out, look after the niggling injuries he inevitably has after years of wear and tear and try to be ready for the big tournaments.

I know how you feel St.B. I suffered a shortish case of it myself many years ago [mid-1990s], and that was bloody painful enough, when I took down eight 25-30ft Lawson Cypress trees in our back garden in Kent, with a bow-saw. It was only after they were all down and my tennis elbow emerged that I hired a chainsaw. <doh>

IIRC, I think it took about 6 months for it to disappear too.

Konta will have learned a lot from her fortnight's experience at Wimbledon, and will go into the late summer more of a battle-hardened competitor. Although, she will feel she let herself down, she should feel proud of the progess she has made this year. Good luck to her for the North Amercan season.

All of the current grid of F1 drivers took part in a Live London event yesterday where they pottered round in the cars, met fans etc.

Well, I say all. I mean all of them apart from one...

    Yep, him.

He was probably trying to get into the royal box at Wimbledon in a pair of ripped jeans and a hoodie.
