I went to FB last evening and one guy posted that he was delighted about Murray's demise. Why anyone wants to show how happy they are when someone loses I do not know. As far as I am concerned, this "friend" has a far bigger problem than Murray. It seems he has some hatred in his heart as exemplified by his joy at Trump winning, being a supporter of Farage and other activities around the fringe right
Let a cat be a cat. If it hunts down smaller animals, fine. It is their instinct, and can have a beneficial effect in controlling the population of smaller rodents and other species. Here in Mallorca, the small lizards do a fanastic job in gobbling up as many mosquitoes as possible.
Simon Peach posted this picture of O'Neal dunking a ball....what a great action shot....better than the usual bronzes.
I don't like the fact they kill , but I accept it . No real problem with mice , but hate it when they get birds . Fortunately it happens very rarely now .
Yes I'm the same. Funny how killing the mice doesn't upset me as much. My youngster (cat not child!) has a collar which flashes and beeps to try to stop the bird killing. It's not perfect but along with some added bells the birds have to be pretty slow not to react with that row going on! It doesn't bother her luckily and I always know when she is about. It's only natural for them to hunt but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to negate the carnage.
My young one brings back the mice, plays with them and loses interest. My old cat strolls out and chomps them up. Efficient but disgusting. The collar seems to be working most of the time with birds with only a couple of exceptions.
Funniest thing I have seen ( not for the Mouse ) was a few years ago , Jasper walked along the front garden with a mouse in his mouth . Toby wandered over to him , Jasper hissed & dropped the mouse , Toby ran off with it & Jasper was wandering around looking for it !
Like when our old cat had a mouse on our drive. I was watering with the hose so sprayed near him causing him to drop the mouse which ran into the woods. The cat then spent 5 minutes looking for the mouse including underneath himself.
Funny but sad story - one of my now-dead cats caught a little bird a few years ago and brought it into the house. I managed to rescue it, get it into a box and into the bathroom upstairs. I left the window wide open and put in a handful of bird seeds for the bird to munch on and hopefully get its strength back. I went back up hours later to find - yay! an empty box... but a toilet bowl full of drowned bird I gave it as much of a chance as I could but it was not to be. I did apologise as I flushed it down the toilet...
http://www.alphr.com/bioscience/100...o-store-a-gif-inside-the-dna-of-a-living-cell Scientists have stored a GIF (of a galloping horse) inside the DNA of a living cell...part of an experiment to show that you can use the DNA in cells as a storage device.
How are we all feline this afternoon? Replies after the tennis!! Here it is around 34. The house is like a radiator at night after soaking up the heat of the sun during the day. In some parts of Andulacia it is around 46C. That is seriously hot!!
Very comfortable in Southampton. Bit cloudy, but 22°C or thereabouts. Apparently it is about to get rather humid in the UK over the weekend. Whether that manifests itself in our fair city is another thing though.
Something ate my cock in the garden a couple of nights ago, and one of the bantams. I suspect a fox. Have now foxproofed, so unless it comes equipped with wire cutters, it's not getting any more. What it does mean is that I get to buy some replacements, and I love finding a cheap bird.
