Pretty much the worse timing for Everton, now that Swansea know they have £75m in the bank. I'd expect Swansea to hold out for £50m. And I'd also expect Everton to pay it.
Not saying Everton don't have the cash, but, to an extent, their signings so far have been funded by the Lukaku cash. And, whilst I know we aren't going to pay that for any player, for me Sigurdsson is the missing piece that would turn us into a consistent top 6 challenging side.
Whilst having the added benefit of preventing a rival (ie Everton) signing him. As it is, just challenging them this coming season is looking a mighty tough ask, let alone the main six.
As things stand I think all Everton's signings just solidify them as 7th. I don't think any of their signings will push them on enough to break top 6 unless one of the sides has a bad season. We are currently firmly in the somewhere between 16th and 8th club and I don't expect that to really change
Just reading that Leicester have gone in higher than Everton for Siggy; also rejected. Leicester are another one who could finish with an excellent transfer window under their belts.
Pickford Coleman Keane Williams/Jagielka Baines Schneiderlin Gueye/Klaassen Bolasie/Davies Sigurdson Ramirez Rooney Potentially could be the way they line up. Add a DM and an attacker and I personally think this is a team we can rival.
Liverpool's pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keitahas been dealt a blow after the Bundesliga side effectively warned off the Reds. Jurgen Klopp's long-held interest in the Guinea international is well known and has led to much speculation about the 22-year-old's future. However, all summer Leipzig have been steadfast in their stance that he will not be sold and, according to Press Association Sport, they have contacted the Merseysiders to re-emphasise this. That would leave Keita, who returned for pre-season training on Thursday, having to agitate for a move just one year after joining from sister club Red Bull Salzburg. (Sky) Sounds familiar. Liverpool again........
This sounds like rubbish. Liverpool are a classy club who do transfers by the book. God I hate it when Liverpool are blamed for underhand tactics, it's never their fault.
When Liverpool don't sign Keita or Virgil and end up with just Solanke and Salah please log in to view this image
City close to signing LB Mendy from Monaco. I mean, they need more than one, but that might narrow the chances of Ryan going.
