    This is a hope.

But I'm guessing they had to do this to break out of the current agreements set by Bernie. A £4m loss a year for the most attended race seems crazy. I hope Liberty makes an exception for this event. I think F1 needs a few prestige events that should always be on the calender and be a bit more special.

Trouble is , if Liberty make an exception , the others will all want " Special Treatment "

Don't get me wrong , I think the F1 world needs the British GP , just making a point .

Given the size of the deal it shouldn't take too much adjusting to stop a £5m a year loss. Would certainly show goodwill, it's not like Silverstone need to make a profit as it's essentially a marketing event for them, they just need to not make a loss, a loss that was due to increase year on year. All this at a venue in a very expensive country with one of the largest turnouts. If they can't afford the event with 100,000+ paying at least £100 each then something is up.

Early bird ticket for adult is £185, £93.50 for a child under 15. and those kids are gonna want burgers and chips, they're probably another fiver each. And if you're famous, have no interest in motorsport but can easily afford it, you'll probably get invited for free.
I think Silverstone is crying wolf myself, send it to Donnington or Brands.

I think thats kinda the point. They're getting good attendance at outrageous prices and still make a hefty loss. Bernie's legacy.

I went to a 6 hours race at Silverstone about 10 years ago we got a little tour whilst there, the guy said F1 was a nightmare for them, all the shops and food on site had to give 50% of their takings to Bernie as well. I get the feeling they just host F1 purely for publicity, at the moment the numbers are stacked against them. I got the super early tickets last year for £99 for the Sunday, that's still a heck of a sum, it can't be sustainable.

    Piss-poor from Hamilton.

If he'd rather holiday/party a few days in between GP's, then how can he focus on getting his championship back up and running?

The fans will remember this as well. EVERYONE but him was there, plus Button and Rosberg. He may have well just stuck two fingers up to F1 fans and say 'I don't need you, I have more money than all of you, why should I bother to attend a free vent just to please you'. British driver, British GP, can't be bothered to attend a British promotional event. Sorry Lewis, you've gone down massively on this one.

F1 is shortly to go on a months break. He can have his holiday then.

I was in London today but couldn't hang around for it which was a real shame.

Then again, just seen Paddington station was closed at 8pm. Would have been very late home if I had stayed (with very angry wife probably as well!)

I just get this feeling , that since he won his 3rd world championship ( which was his dream to match Senna ) He is not quite the same .

I am sure he is giving 100% ( not to the fans obviously ) but I wonder if his desire has not dropped a little ?

Having said that , he will now probably be WDC 2017 <laugh>

According to Zac Brown , neither mercy or Ferrari want to supply them with engines , so they may be stuck with Honda .
