I think he is a good striker, he isn't world class and he isn't going to a top ten club, but any club in the bottom half of the PL should be happy to have him.
The way we've played whilst been in the pl has been negative (silva changed it on his arrival but as the pressure grew we reverted back) we create very little. The negative way we play with one up front means any striker we can attract would struggle.
Nearly every team in the top two divisions and all the best teams in Europe play with one up front. The difference between fluid attacking and our dour approach are wide men who instinctively play low and central, rather than the likes of Elmo, and a dynamic midfield with one or two central players making runs beyond the striker. We always tended to keep our midfield deep in a strict shape, our wide players always stayed out wide and most balls into the box were launched from a trebuchet.
