I agree with all of that but £5m is a ****ing lot of money for a Championship goal keeper. I can see why they had no faith in Jak ( and I still haven't) and McGregor, if the rumours are correct is a bit of a twat, but my point is that the owners who are accused of not backing Bruce at the time, actually did, it was Bruce who wanted to be away and on top of that the club was on the verge of being sold. So under those circumstances it was still a bold move to shell out £5m for a keeper and they broke the club transfer record to bring Mason here who was another Bruce target. Kanu was a greedy bastard and wanted £100k a week a massive signing on fee, that's why he wasn't signed.

If you look at Bruce's signings and his overall player trading while he was with us, it's very good, he made a decent profit on all areas of the pitch, other than keeper and striker. We made a modest profit on Long, but we've done our bollocks on all the strikers he signed. Not entirely his fault, if the Andre Gray deal hadn't been ****ed up, he'd have had a decent one.
