I'm not a racist but I believe you should represent the country you were born, or at a minimum the country your mum and dad were born. Not some long lost grandfather or some ****.

If that's a racist comment, then so be it.

It's like me representing Jamaica, nonsense.

Debating whether it's right or wrong is down to subjective opinion mate.

My view is that if you're a UK citizen then you should be able to represent the UK.

The only reason it came up was Kustard, and his angle is driven by his racism.

He was born in India, as were his parents. He's lived here since he was 7 and considers himself English. Andrew Strauss is similar, he came here when he was 6.

As I read it you think he should play for India? He doesn't feel Indian though and it is effectively a foreign country for him. Same with Strauss and South Africa. Raheem Sterling came here when he was 5 and probably feels English.

There's various arguments that I would probably agree with. But fundamentally I believe you should play for the country you were born.

Exceptions to the rule? Yeah probably, but it's not something I can't even be bothered to debate!

I wasn't born in UK but I identify myself as British. If anything I'm more of a foreigner in the country I was born in

I would have happily played for england if injuries hadn't wrecked things up for me

However I completely disagree with Kevin pietersen playing for england or imran tahir playing for South Africa and Usman khawaja playing for the Aussies and no way should eoin Morgan captain or play for england
