Mick -I am in total agreement with what you have said. My point to BFB and the other one (or two) Celtic fan/s who are/were so disdainful of SH was in asking them to address his points with which they disagreed - as to your credit, you have just done - rather than pander to the sorts of comments to which some Rangers fans on here will be more than happy to add. Apologies for going somewhat off topic but I felt this was something which needed to be said.
Conspiracy theories will always be well nigh impossible to prove. That doesn't mean there is nothing wrong with the Scottish game and the referees. One thing that always interests me is when a referee official or a referee himself find themselves in controversy, on matter what is the source of it, the Rangers fans always rush to back them. This was very evident when Hugh told lies and passed on sectarian material and when Dougie told lies. It doesn't matter if Celtic are involved or not, the instinct is for Rangers fans to protect their friends. We all know that referees can make mistakes, they would not be human if they didn't; however there is no doubt that referees give far more decisions against Celtic than for them. I hope the day comes that referees have to explain how they made their decisions
Superhoops , the referees normally explain themselves years later at after diner speaking, all the times they have robbed Celtic and gifted Rangers a dodgy decision when required
exactly CL money and we'd be in the ****ing black. Would keep the money men AND fans happy as we'd maybe have more money to invest on the playing squad yet they can still turn a profit a wee bit of speculation can lead to accumulation too. if we are debt free (or as good as) lets invest a few million in the team and recoup it next year in CL income Look at Rangers 18.8m euro from last seasons European run which football wise was terrible on their part on the main. If we invest £10m and make £15m surely the business brains can see the sence in that. They want the CL money and expect the managers to get it for free i feel sometimes
The money men see the OF (spit) as inseparable They fear rangers demise as much as the huns Was strachans last season a lifeline for the accountants on both sides?
Are you saying we let them win? This is something almost unspeakable your bringing up here. I had never thought of it this way and now I wan't a pitchfork and a burning torch for each of us as we track these traitiors down!
LOL! That was a bit of an obvious post which I half expected from some Ranger's fan dimwit (no offence meant!). I just like to see a bit of fair play given to other Celtic posters and some of the Ranger's fan's responses to SH's posts were/are condescending, derogatory and of course, not in the least surprising, so it was disappointing to see a Celtic poster paving the way for them. Not going to go through it all again, as I'm sure you know perfectly well what I've been saying!
The positives are we know where our money has gone, no cloak & dagger **** like you see at other clubs. We have made healthy profits from certain players, part reinvested in the team and part paid off debts. We were in a similar position a few years back and spent abit of cash on the playing side, we are now in a position of having a bank debt of £530,000 only and a young very capable group of players at the club who can lead us to better things. I think Lennnon has done an incredible job with the resources at hand to be able to produce such a team that can sustain itself and reduce the debts. We need a keeper and striker for sure, another centreback would be nice but once we have that the playing side should be self sufficent. We sell Ki/Kayal for £8M+ in a few years and no doubt the scouts & Lennnon can reinvest that money wisely as the have done recently.
Yes, that is the stated aim of our club. No problem at all with it.....as long as there is silverware
I think there will be. Lennon has shown that from the off he knew the weaknesses within the squad, even under Strachan our midfield would often get tore apart against Rangers and other clubs, but the quality he has bought in means its a more rare occurance. One thing we can take from Rangers recent success is the continuity within the squad. The odd improvement here & there but the core group maturing together is great for the future of this club. I'm not naive to think we will have Izzy, Kayal, Ki, Hooper, Brown amongst others all still at the club in 5 years time but its about selling the player when we want or can afford to do so. We are in a position whereby if a silly offer comes in for a certain player we can sell on for a massive profit & use the funds to get in a replacement and improve other positions.
We actually have good players now, players that other clubs are interested in. Ki, Kayal, Izzy, Brown, Ledley, Hooper would all be sold for a few million. These players are in their early 20's. Boruc & McGeady were the only players we had of real talent that could be sold on. We also IMO, have a far bettter manager now then we have had in the last 3 years. He did not have years in England managing, he came from within the club & could see whatwas going wrong & how to fix it. He was given money last summer & spent it superbly, buying young, raw talent. Strachan bought Hartley, Robson, (not so) Magic,JVOH........ Mowbray bought in Fortune, Hoovield...
