I love gentler weather to, but not as nice on the Island as promised. Am going out with no idea what to wear. My neighbours will think I'm mad....have been trying all combinations of cardigans, jackets and macs walking round the garden. I hate being hot so don't like wearing coats unnecessarily. The only advantage of the unbearable Italian heat was that you knew you only needed a T-shirt/crops combination even if you were out all day.

 

This time of year I'm usually in t-shirt and shorts whatever the sky is doing. If I get wet, skin is waterproof. Keep meaning to purchase a really cheap cagoule though.
I knew the hot weather would break btw, when my son came home the other day with a super dooper electric fan from argos.

To keep this on topic, I hope any new signings can hack it on a wet wednesday in Stoke.

 

It sounds like a very similar experience. I love the English weather; never liked it when it was really windy with a lot of rain being sprayed around; but so loved the seasons. I drove from Romsey to Winchester most work days to travel to Basingstoke; it's a lovely drive with forest and open farmland along the way; perfect to observe the changes in the seasons. I miss the seasons most of all

Reports from AS in Spain stating that Atletico want us to pay €5m for one loan season for Vietto.

 

If it's true it's that plus €10m to convert to a permanent signing, that's a steal.

 

I admit my only knowledge of him is through football manager, but I actually thought he was older than he is. Seems to have been one of those players who has potential but not really kicked on and been around for a while.

 

If history repeats and he proves to be any good, Spurs will nick him like they did with Toby!

 

I doubt we would even consider a loan deal with Athletico, Without making it clear.. They cannot recall him, and sell him elsewhere.

Not convinced by Vietto at all. Think he is too lightweight for the PL and doesn't have the speed of thought to overcome it. Been pretty terrible the last couple of years at Atleti and Sevilla. That being said there is a player with talent in there if it can be developed, just don't think England is the place for him to realise that potential. I'd be surprised if Atleti let him go now aswell with the transfer ban, they haven't got loads of attacking players iirc. They have a couple returning from loan who they may want to give the once over before making any sort of decision.

That doesn't mean anything tbh. He only says what he knows, we could still be trying to sign him. It's just Di Marzio hasn't got it confirmed we are interested

 

If it is a choice for Vietto over us and Sampdoria and Benfica then I would think Benfica would be the most attractive

I am cautious about Vietto, From the clips I have seen he does seem very lightweight.

Have zero idea about signings. Like others have said I think Saints have closed up big time

 

Am hoping Saints closing up and not having anything coming out is a sign they are planning some signings and trying to find more unearthed gems without our usual stalkers (Liverpool) getting wind and paying an initial premium to gazump us...

Ever hopeful and not that this is a sign we're not going to do much or do our usual deadline day panic deals....

 

Back to work tomorrow so had to start training for early nights and earlish mornings
