It's hard to imagine it falling any sweeter. They've no right backs and need 2. They're off to the States and need right backs. They've got one of the worst left backs in the league and no back-up and no right backs. They need home grown players and only have spaces in their squad for defenders, particularly 2 right backs. They need some of those defenders to be English, only there aren't any top grade English centre halves. England have 3 excellent full backs. Two of them are right backs. Much to Citeh's discomfort, they all play for a club run by Daniel Levy. Nurse! More lube!
One day someone will build a Levy app, where you put in info like : 1. PL rating of player in that position 2. Home-grown 3. Years left on contract 4. Desperation of buying club 5. How much contempt Levy has for your club and you get the Levy tax amount..
Sounds like City were hoping to get their first choice RB for free then spend a bit on a home grown backup. Now it looks like they will have to spend big for a first choice and probably find a home grown backup at a reasonable price.
He was a pain in the arse on JA....used to go around saying he used to be a male escort lol...seriously though P you deleted my comment? I was only tickling him
I'm glad that you picked up on that. I wonder if Daniel Levy has raised the issue of their lack of right backs? To borrow fromthe genius of Peter Cook........."I've got nothing against their right sided centre half......., unfortunately, neither have they."
Die-hard Yiddo that he was, he would probably have said exactly the same thing if he was still alive.
So Walker was going to leave us to sit on City's bench? In a world cup year? No wonder he didn't throw his toys out the pram or put in a transfer request
I didn't say he wanted to go, just that I could see where City were trying to head. They would have had a great player who is used to playing Peps way and backed up by someone who can provide some threat going forward if Alves was out injured or rested.
When he is the primary RB at Spurs ?? The Narrative (TM) on this one has not really been thought thru sufficiently, has it.
More money, chance of taking over when Alves retires, still play enough games to get in the England squad. What would be so wrong with that?
Bookmark this : I predict that by the start of next season, Citeh will have been forced to pay 60m for Kyle Walker ... -Peters on a season loan.
and property magnate too. I put some arro bait on the Everton board (assuming he is not banned from there) .
Nah, better than Fabio, about the same as Rafael. My honest opinion is, he is dangerous going forward because of his speed and good crossing. In defence he is very lucky to have great cover from his CBs and midfield, he works for you because of other players. In most other teams he would be found out as a RB.
