Great win by Jo but what the **** happened at the end? A scream? And Halap stopped playing. Strange end but a good win
Either she was just put off, but the way she reacted and didn't complain might be that she thought the scream was one of the line judges shout out and ditch into the net thinking the point was already over.
Nah it was a tight match but Konta is very very good now, also playing on a surface she likes with the home crowd all that energy Halep's a terrific player but Konta just showed the qualities that have got her to where she is, she has a lot of self-belief in the things she does on court. If anything and I would be worried a bit about this if I was Halep's coach, she's in danger of becoming a perennial also-ran, a nearly but never quite, this was a great oppo for her to finally win a slam but she's been bested again, that's concerning for her I'm sure
Halep's an interesting looking girl anyways. Can't work out if she's probably a massive lezzer or not
Problem for Halep is she doesn't have much in the way of a winning shot. Its a constant 'get the ball back', so when she meets someone who can keep up with her and play the winners (ie Konta's backhand shot) she's going to lose.
