Oh no it's that £2.8m tax bill again. however are we going to pay that from the £16.27m we just received from UEFA for last season's champion league.
as much as i dont doubt the whole tax issue is balls i dont think UEFA have just written you a cheque today for £16.27m. That money would on the main have gone to the club last season. so will have already been spent before Whyte took over -probably (and rightly) paying off the cost of Jelavic and beattie and paying off some of the debt - as at that point they couldnt have been certain you wouldhave been taken over. So i woudlnt count on this windfall
What I don't really understand is the interest in this from the yahoo community. If it was about there own club, fair enough but the constant gloating/wringing of hands/ejaculating is rather sad to watch. Especially the ejaculating. That a Scots *ahem* 'journalist', living abroad after leaving Scotland under a cloud (expenses and blood on his hands) now devotes his time to a club he doesn't support shows obssesion above and beyond most OCD sufferers and the rest of his yahoo chums. When this blows over and Rangers don't go bankrupt/into administration/die what will ol' Phil have to do then? Try social care again? What will the yahoos have left? Celtic can't beat a skint Rangers team to the league in the last three attempts so their only hope is Rangers docked 20 points for going into administration. Bet that thought is stirring a few feelings in their mhanky Celtic boxer shorts
I'm afraid the two clubs have become so intertwined down the years that it's nigh impossible not to take an interest in what the other half are up to. Let's be brutally honest, we're the only two teams likely to win the SPL in the foreseeable future so if one club does something like sign a quality player or get done by the tax man it's going to have an impact on the other. In fact, I believe that the main reason our Board have been reluctant to spend any decent money over the past couple of years is because they knew Rangers wouldn't do likewise. Lawwell et al obviously thought that with minimal spending we would be able to stay ahead of the skint Gers. Well, we can see how that worked out.
Obvioulsy, I'm interested in Rangers' match results and their signings ... However, all the talk about the takeover or the HMRC case/s borders on the obsessive for a lot of Celtic fans. I am glad that Celtic run a tight ship as I wouldn't like it to get the the stage it was at before The Bunnet appeared.
Let's be honest, it's a good laugh. Rangers may not go to the wall but it would be amusing to see them deducted 10 points. Not holding my breath waiting for it to happen though.
The reason rtc and pmg are popular is due to their reporting being not just anti rangers, **** I could do that, but being accurate. Scots tabloids hate having to report negative stories about rangers...so mostly don't It wasnt just rtc and pmg who warned you about Whyte IT WAS ALSO THE RANGERS BOARD MEMBERS Are they timmy yahoos too?
i agree to a certain extent but if the ebt thing is proven, and it seems to be a fairly solid case to the casual observer then we are looking at several years where Celtic lost out in no small part down to the financial doping of our greatest rivals, it is natural that we are inclined to hope that you get absolutely ****ed for that. Phil is a raging egomaniac who has made a lot of enemies of late(myself amongst them), however the veracity of his reporting has proven thus far to be accurate. His opinions aren't worth a damn thing to me but he is amongst the very few journalists who have ventured to address the topic and done so without fear or favour. You find our reaction sad to watch, well I find it highly amusing the number of Huns who think this will just go away.
Phil annoys me too He acts like he holds the last irish passport stamped in Scotland "my granda was in the ra, only I may sing botob" **** off and get back to ripping rangers
I don't think it will go away but until either Rangers or HMRC state what the big bill is - why worry? It may be a storm in a teacup or it may wreck Rangers as we know them but I can't influence it and neither can any internet blogger or punter. We'll all find out in good time. The endless speculation is just pointless because nobody knows the truth.
I had some dealings with him in the past, he is very fast at getting to grips with an idea but his ego has ran away with him of late. He was on Clyde last night making some good points about the tax case but Spiers derailed him by insinuating that the story wasn't broken by Phil. He had to go on about that instead of tackling the point at hand........and his granda was in the ra
That's the thing. Why can't someone just spell out in simple black and white terms what the situation is?
Blah blah blah ESTABLISHMENT blah blah blah DECADES OF BIAS blah blah blah PERSECUTION COMPLEX blah blah blah PARANOID blah blah blah HUGH KEEVINS blah etc. YAWN.
I heard him and wished Speirso would have shut the **** up and let him say what he came on to say instead of being a pedantic curly haired twat. The problem with Clyde is that as soon as you offer a differing opinion they change the subject or end the call. Jim Delahunt - rhyming slang if I ever saw it. That way everyone could have understood that he is a fruitcake
I in no way wish to big up Phil 'ma'godwaecock but if Celtic fans wish to have a gloat at Rangers problems way does that bother you so much?
