And therein lies the rub. No one with an ounce of sende would ever invest in a football club, except as a vanity project. Or as a means of getting dirty money out of the hands of autocratic regimes. So the sort of people willing to invest in football clubs are often the last people you would want investing in a football club. We got lucky with Marcus Liebherr, we have been lucky so far with his daughter. Now we just have to hope we can get lucky again. On the other hand, there's sod all we can do about it but hope for the best.
That really isn't true. We know now that Kat isn't worth what Marcus was and she has millions at her disposable as oppose to billions. She simply doesn't have the financial power to invest enough into us.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sa...nder_set_for_Saints_takeover_meeting/?ref=rss All the figures throw about of up to $3bn were just the value of her father's business interests and estate. Echo reporting her personal worth to be in the hundreds of millions as I said. She isn't a billionaire
She doesn't choose to Beef. If she wanted to, she could take Saints further. Hey, I'm not complaining.
And the millions that are available aren't sitting in a bank account waiting for her to write a cheque. Her personal wealth will be spread across various investments, & if those investments are doing well she'd be nuts to pull her money out and put it all into a football club. People like Roman Abramovitch literally had so much cash pouring out of the oilwells and mineral mines he owned in Russia, & into his bank accounts that he didn't know what to do with it. Chelsea represented a means for him to get his money out of Russia. I suspect something similar may apply to Chinese investors wanting to buy into PL clubs. Whether that is going to be good or bad for the clubs or the League, we have yet to learn.
Her own personal fortune is said to be £300 million. She can't realistically invest much in us. Time to move on, and hope for the best.
Kat wants to do well by us I am sure, but we are not an obsession. She may have the money, but doesn't want it all in one place.
Although her plan was always not too er invest but to run sustainably. The issue isn't about moving on due to money. She's moving on because she feels it is time for her to do so and to convert her holding into some money. The worst part of the takeover for me is going to be the expectation level of some of our fans. It's bad enough now.
If we are to be sold I would like it to be to someone financially secure who will invest more into the club....not on the level of Chelsea....just enough to keep us comfortably on track. We were a bargain when ML bought us so he could obviously invest safely....and we were in such dire straits that anything would be an improvement. We are not in a desperate position now...so our requirements are greater. I'm nervous about this whole thing....it feels wrong....as do most football team purchases tbh. Nothing we can do about it though.

I'm more worried about the greasy floor, than the glass ceiling!
Its no wonder some of the players are unsettled..........Wondering who the heck is going to be the boss in the future. All this speculation players going, players coming, new owners taking over, new owners not taking over. Who would want to be a manager here? Oh yes forgot.....we do have a new manager well I suppose thats something. Come on Saints lets get this thing over and done with so we can concentrate on the football in a couple of weeks................ Oh........... any new rumours?
