He's not a speedy winger but he has plenty of pace and limitless ability. If Oxo was worth 12 million then Lallana must be worth 25 million. I agree that we should never sell him. I am totally amazed he has not featured on Capello's radar. Perhaps now we are tearing up the championship he will be. Both Lallana and Cork could be England regulars when we are back in the PL.

OMG why do people latch on to one thing you say and totally go overboard with it? have any of you stopped to think why the big boys might not be going after Lallana? the only reason i see that could possibly be the reason is his lack of pace because he has everything else,i'm not saying is he slow,i'm not saying that every premier league club looks for pace,i'm simply saying there has to be a reason why they aint lining up for him and that is the only thing i can think of.Stop being so over-protective,he won't be going anyway,he's one of us!

Did Lallana sign his new contract before we got promoted last year? I think he did. I don't think we need to worry about lallana for now, just enjoy it all. The team are clearly a strong unit right now, and it must be a joy for players when the whole team clicks in this way and they all (rightly) feel that they can get further success. He's got family locally, supports the club. Its all good!

To me Adam Lallana looks like he could be a through and through Saint <ok>

Has always given his all and is a fantastic part of the SFC jigsaw <ok>

Because you're wrong. The only reason why they are not lining up for him is because he has categorically told them not to bother. This was reported.

Because I don't think the PL clubs are ignoring them. I think they are quietly (strange for them) watching because they want to be sure their 15m+ will be worth it.

If he keeps performing like this they may well start making those loud PL 'media noises come January

Couldn't agree more, Lallana has been involved in all but two of our 13 goals so far this season, either with direct assists or build up play before the final ball.

I've mentioned it before on the old 606 but our win percentages with and without him really do show what a massive contribution he has to the side.

Lallana is our best player and everything, but i can't help but think some people are over rating him. he wouldn't get into a top 4 team, which is why they don't want him, plus they'd have to pay a premium

with Adkins and Cortese in charge maybe he will be in a top 4 team in a few years time (if England haven't poached Adkins by then)

I've got to agree,he's an amazing player and i love him but i don't think any of the top 4 or 5 teams are interested, they would of let it be known already if that was the case,i'm happy about that because southampton can match any other team in the premier league in a couple of years in my opinion, adam knows this which is why i think he'll stay.Prepare to be castrated now manmountain because it's very rare that you'll be allowed an opinion on here.

Well if it makes you feel better, I think you're right. I think his lack of pace does deter Premiership teams from coming in for him. Being as important as he is for us - and being in the financial position that we are in - any side that wanted to buy him would have to pay absoloute top dollar. But are they really going to do that when he's not massively pacey - something which is highly desireable in the Premiership.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying he's not good enough to play in the Premiership. I think he'll take it like a duck to water. I'm just saying that a price people would have to pay for him, his lack of pace could well persuade potential suitors to look else where.

One saving grace was that heart condition that was corrected in 2004, with that on his CV some clubs wouldn't take the risk maybe?

I agree with you to be honest, lallana is so important to us and I don't think I would ever sell him an as someone said earlier the don won't let him go, he know just how much lallana means to this football club, thus the nice long deal he has just signed, I can honestly see lallana becoming like le tissier and it looks like he just want to be here.

Lallana has made it clear he will not go to a PL club and sit on the bench. He is a footballer who wants to play football rather than sit around picking up a massive wage packet. A rarity these days. In terms of ability he is also a rarity. Hugely talented. In 5 years time I would like to think he is playing for us in the PL and also in the England team ahead of Walcott and Oxo.
