So far this season we've seen O'Dea at leftback and he was poor. Parker was dreadful, although I would put some of that down to a lack of match fitness. And yesterday Aidy White got his chance, and put in the best leftback performance I've seen for a while, after struggling through George McCartney and Bessone last season.

    Is he the longterm answer?

think the whole team had extra confidence last night so everyone played well

We can judge after the next 3/4 games - he might have a shocker against west ham then we're back to where we started

    but it looks promising

O'Dea is 100% more effective at CB

Absolutely the answer. I've been banging on about him being our best LB for ages. Pacey, gets stuck in,best since Dorigo.

He's only 19 as well, so his positioning etc. will improve. You can't teach pace though and he's great going forward.

If he remembers not to wander and just defend he may be sufficient. His problem in the past is when he has bombed up the pitch with the ball from left back, tripped over it or shown the close control of an elephant, and given possession away in very dangerous positions.

If he learns when the right time is to do that then he could be very effective.

Give him a few games at least so that we can have a proper look to see if he is up for it, I for one hope he is as O'Dead is needed in the centre with Paddy. If O'Dea, Bromby & O'Brien are all ahead of Bruce as CBs do we really need him???? Let him go save the wages & if needs be play Lees there in an emergency

Lees is primarily a centre back as well though. Maybe we could see a 3 5 2 system before long?

Remember when we did that at Leicester though when we signed Ferdinand was it, and we played him with Woodgate and another obviously good player in a 3 at the back, and we got tonked 3-0!

Pace isnt the main thing when considering a left back... or any position really

Bruce is absolutely ****, he and O'Brien shouldn`t be allowed in Thorp Arch ever again, never mind the first team.

If Bruce could play like he did against Arsenal consistently he would be good but lets be honest that was a one off!!!!

Nobody else get annoyed at whites throw ins yesterday?
