I'm pretty sure there's some sort of covenant on it to prevent it being developed and there'd be major issues getting planning on their anyway, the access is poor.
They could spend a season at Bishop Burton, while they demolish the old buildings and build something decent at the existing site. In fact, they're not as bad inside, they should at least clad the existing building so it looks a bit more like.
At least we have moved on a bit, I remember in the 1950’s watching City train on Costello playing fields to where they used to all run from Boothferry Park where the actual pitch was their other training facility.
A number of things there, I am sure they would fight but there's plenty getting built in Cott, have you been up castle hill lately? all what was greenhouses ( Rosenbrooks ? ) across from the hospital is houses now. The land they own at Melton would be a good place for the training centre or Bishop Burton where they go now to use their facilities.
Just replacing the existing buildings wouldn't be too problematic, it's only converting it all to housing that would be an issue.
I went to a consultation, if that's what you want to call it, about new a training ground which was planned for Melton. The location would be pretty much ideal I'd have thought. They had all the plans/ models on display in the village hall in Ferriby with the bloke who draughted them up answering questions. This was 2008/ 2009. It looked very impressive, similar to Brighton's new facility that Bummers posted. If only.
Can you imagine the moaning if they went and built at melton??? Anyway I'm a firm believer the training ground should be in Hull.
That's it lads, pack it up. May as well open the January window thread now considering we've completed our summer strengthening.
