True he warmed the bench at Madrid, but be honest Chief, Lulaku wouldn't have even made the reserves at Madrid.
I'm not sure the latter is strictly true. He's a goal scorer so he probably would, no doubt having taken time to adapt to his environment. Which is what Morata will have to do. This was my doubt on him. although I fully admit I thought he'd be decent for us eventually although probably not in his first season. The big question is not that he was kept out of the team by Ronaldo, because anyone would be, but why couldn't he get past Benzema. Benzema is a decent player and that's about as far as it goes.
I would say that Benzema is better than Lukaku personally. It all comes down to the preference of the manager as to who plays. In the games that Morata plays, he has a good scoring record.
Stop going on about sense, you don't have any. Yes the club wanted him but I didn't. What part of that don't you understand.
I think it's fairly clear that most of the Chelsea fans on here didn't fancy Lukaku back. To be honest I didn't want him at United either as I have my reservations about him scoring under pressure, but now he's here I'll back the lad and hope that the players we have and our staff can get the best and better out of him. I think it's blatantly obvious that Chelsea's manager wanted Lukaku though and they're looking at contingency options now. Costa wants to play for Atletico. Lukaku wants to play for United. Morata wants to play for United (ideally Real Madrid actually) and Aubameyang wants to play for Real Madrid. I just wonder if there's any strikers out there dreaming of playing for Chelsea.
I think people are just happy to be playing for where they will get paid. At United they know they will get paid the big bucks. As long as the strikers are doing the business then that's all that matters
There are endless examples of contradictions to that statement though mate. I'm not going to sit and list them all.
Fine.... to take a complex matter and break it down to the following: Most players would opt for the following: - Wages - Challenging for trophies - Manager - History of the club - Location That i believe is the order of what is important to a player. No way would Lukaku go to you guys for 50k a week if chelsea were offering 200k a week to him. Think we can agree on that? So with the above, certain teams satisfy most of those for players they want to buy. That is your Real, Bayerns and Barcas. Theres the next level down and that's United, City, Chelsea, PSG. City Chelsea, PSG because theres loads of money and we challenge for trophies. United are in there because you have loads of money and you have loads of history and a small chance for challenging for trophies (last year was a "breakthrough" year with the europy). And when i'm talking about trophies i'm talking about CL, PL and Europy. Obviously you have loads of fans and people from the generation below may have been United/Liverpool fans but realistically most players don't move to their boyhood supported clubs and play for them.
Agree with most Tel but I don't think Conte wanted him more Emanelo which prompted Conte to have a one to one with Roman re ME sticking his nose in. This was picked up by the papers but for the wrong reasons. I'm told Conte now has a direct channel to Roman re transfers.
Think that goes under challenging for trophies. Also not necessarily the case, you pay them well enough and they don't care about Champions League. Case in point: Ibrahimovic Pogba Silva Tevez Oscar Hulk Yaya Toure Mo Salah Lacazette David Luiz Etc etc
Break it down in Chelsea's favour don't you mean? WTF are you talking about 50k and 200k, why not just keep the parameters the same and accept that you'd be beaten under those circumstances by a club who have 'a small chance of challenging for trophies'? Why not include ambition? Probably because your club don't have any, they just mutter along season by season, the players will decide if they want to treat the manager like **** and make relegation their objective, whereas our players will try and stick rigidly to a system even if it is designed and implemented by some gargantuan ****wit like David Moyes. Can't take you seriously pal, you're just waffling to make it look good for Chelsea, because you can't list a single player who'd break their neck for your club now JT has left.
