yeah, all he has to do is get used to hand controls, which I doubt will be too hard for a kid when you think about the analogue controls for a playstation. I can see him racing again, sponsors know they'll get good media coverage from helping him and will be queueing up to show people how empathic their company is. Losing his legs also means he's lost a lot of weight. Wouldn't want it to happen, but gotta take the positive angle on things.
The kid is extraordinary! I don't think I would be quite so determined and as motivated if I were in a similar position. I really hope he can get back to competing.
Silverstone's contract: Just wondered what people thought about Silverstone potentially activating it's break clause? Seems to me Bernie did his job very well. He achieved most income possible to boost sale price. Now it is coming to bite Liberty. OK so Silverstone were stupid to agree to a 5% increase each year but they expected wages to grow and the publics expendable income not to be squeezed. So do you think a new deal will be done or will Liberty play hard ball and loose the UK GP for a year or maybe even manage to do a deal to get a London street race for 2020?
Don;t like the idea of a London GP, halfway through the race a line of bollards will appear down the straight with a contraflow. Then there's the added cost to the teams of the congestion charge, could break sauber, though the 20mph speed limit they'll impose should help anyone with a Honda. I wouldn't mind them changing it to a different track though, Silverstone has always been a bit of a boring track imo, though I doubt any of the others would be up to code now.
Isle of Man. Nobody will take the piss with track limits. Give Palmer a 5 minute start, so the marshals have time to remove his damaged car before the rest of the grid arrives.
I second the Isle of Man, It would be awesome to see F1 cars flat out on the 37 miles mountain course. LOL, I bet there would be a lot of complaints from the drivers.
It seems Vettel is cracking under pressure. When he was at Red Bull he had by far the best car. So no real competition other than Webber who was put back in his 'No2' place. Then moved to Ferrari and no chance of winning so no pressure. This year he has a chance of winning WDC but it's close so pressure is on and he is cracking under the pressure.... It's good to see drivers under pressure, they make mistakes and that makes things more interesting.
pff, that graph is so laughable, Benson fawns over Hamilton so much he should buy property in his colon. Where's the mark for Hamilton accusing the stewards of racism, or his accusing his team of deliberately sabotaging him? And only one mark for team-orders when I can't remember a single time he's actually obeyed one.
Benson's current article is really embarrassing, I'm shocked that no one at the BBC has taken notice as that level of sheer bias shouldn't have any place at the national broadcaster.
Not to mention the inconsistencies to favour Hamilton. Breaking team orders apparently ranks you higher than assault does if you're Vettel, but lower if you're Hamilton.
This weekend it was interesting to hear Alonso soften his criticism of Honda and McLaren. This might explain why http://www.crash.net/f1/news/269069...as-hamilton-foresees-no-mercedes-changes.html
End of the British GP from 2019 as BRDC have invoked the contract break clause. Big gamble by BRDC as they will expect Liberty to renegotiate the contract.
Billy monger has targeted Le Mans, hoping to team up with a guy called Frederick Sausset. If you think Billy Monger getting there would be an amazing feat, consider that this guy wasn't a racing driver when he lost both legs AND both hands at the age of 43.It then became his life goal to race at le mans, which he did last year. http://blackflag.jalopnik.com/the-fascinating-way-this-quadruple-amputee-will-drive-a-1782186560
