Sounds like a good run out. Won't happen but imagine if he kept hold of Khazri and Konè. We should keep them unless someone offers big money. Pretty sure Lens will go in the coming weeks.
First half line-up Mannone - 7 Made some good saves, commanded his box very well, even his distribution wasn't bad. On this evidence more than happy if he remains at the club. Love - 6 Got forward well but still a little suspect defensively, seems a little hesitant to get stuck in and prefers to stand off. Kone - 6 Looked half-hearted but still head and shoulders above the rest at this level, no disrespect to Hibs. Wasn't really tested. Djilobodji - 7 Cleared everything he had to and looked quite assured on the ball. Was probably the most impressive of the two centre-halfs. Jones - 4 Any Hibs danger came down his side as they seemed to pinpoint the weak spot. Needs replacing and even looked to struggle in a testimonial. Poor. Rodwell - 5 Should have imposed himself more on the game, still seemed nervous to really get a foot in and disappeared quite quickly. Still require more from him. please log in to view this image Jack Rodwell had his usual muted game Photo by Mark Runnacles/Getty Images Honeyman - 5 Was very quiet and didn't get involved anywhere near enough. Obviously got plenty of talent on the ball but his size psychically lets him down. Someone get him a decent meal. Gibson - 7 Always available for a pass and distributed well. Could be very valuable at this level. Kept things ticking over and, whilst remaining quiet, his presence in the middle was needed when Hibs pressured us first half. Embleton - 5 Ran down dead ends a little too much, doesn't look too small for this level but seemed a little nervous and too eager to impress. Khazri - 9 Head and shoulders above the rest of the team. His quality shines through in games like this, went quiet after a really bright opening, but his passing ability and quality on the ball shone above the rest of the players on the pitch. Scored a good goal. please log in to view this image Wahbi Khazri impressed in the first half and scored with a volley Photo by Mark Runnacles/Getty Images Maja - 7 Played well for the opening 15 minutess, has a good engine and is surprisingly composed for a young boy. Faded a little as the half went on, but certainly giving himself a chance at being around the squad next year. please log in to view this image Josh Maja was lively again in his second decent showing in a matter of days Photo by Mark Runnacles/Getty Images Second-half line-up Mika - 5 Didn't do anything particularly wrong, but the defence didn't look quite as assured when he came on. Matthews - 6 Saved an almost certain goal and winner for Hibs late on. Didn't do a great deal wrong. O'Shea - 5 Like much of the defence, he looked shaky, as we conceded two second half. Put it down to match fitness. Beadling - 4 Poor, the game looked above him and it would be fair to say he won't have done much to impress Grayson. Galloway - 5 Got done countless times by Hibs' winger, not too sure if full back is his best position. Assured on the ball but needs to be better. Cattermole - 7 Typically industrious, try telling Catts it's pre-season. Hit the post and managed to get into a fight. Lee Lee Lee! Ndong - 6 A quiet game, but the minutes will be good to the legs. Pushed up high as usual, but looked tired in the last 10 minutes. Ethan Robson - 4 I'm not sure he made one pass accurately. Wasn't impressed at all and looked overawed. Greenwood - 6 Looks to have bulked up but still lacks strength and his final ball leaves a lot to be desired. There's something to work on though. Gooch - 5 Pretty poor to be honest. Didn't get on the ball as much as we would have liked, but he definitely isn't a forward so how much can you expect? Lens - 4 Scored a goal but ultimately he was pretty garbage, just not interested and is it now a case of the sooner he goes the better? please log in to view this image Simon Murray of Hibs celebrates his goal Photo by Mark Runnacle https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...ck-cats-player-ratings-from-hibs-v-sunderland
I hope Khazri and Lens stop here I forgot about him !, Mcgeady, Watmore to come back as well, things are looking up, just get that defence sorted now. Was that the Hibs first team we played ? 1000 away supporters, the real test is Celtic.
Hmmmm I listened to the majority of the first half and it sounded like Rodwell and Jones were two of our better players. Jones got a lovely assist.
**** knows how we played but please for khazri. Hope the lad stays. Doesn't sound like our kids are ready apart from maja that is. Never rated honeyman so Iam not surprised he played **** again.
Here's the echo's opinion but no ratings. The Sunderland player by player verdict as Khazri and Cattermole impress against Hibernian please log in to view this image Khazri was outstanding Email 16:03Sunday 09 July 2017 3HAVE YOUR SAY Sunderland were held to a 2-2 draw after a spirited late comeback by Hibernian. Simon Grayson fielded two different sides in each half as a number of senior players returned. Here's how they got on.... VITO MANNONE An authoritative performance from the current No.1. Made some fine saves and dominated his box at set-pieces. DONALD LOVE Dealt with the threat posed by left winger Danny Swanson comfortably for the most part. LAMINE KONE Shepherded Hibs striker Simon Murray with ease and never looked troubled. PAPY DJILOBODJI Looked leggy in a couple of one on one situations but was impressive in dealing with crosses into the box, making a number of timely interceptions and clearances. BILLY JONES A perfect cross for Khazri’s opener, not the only time he threatened down the left flank. Strong in the air as usual. DARRON GIBSON Played as Sunderland’s deep-lying playmaker in the first half and took the captain’s armband in the absence of O’Shea and Cattermole. Looked sharper than the tail end of last season. JACK RODWELL Played far higher up the field than accustomed to and while lost the ball on a few occasions, there was some good link up play with Maja and Khazri, including one glorious first time pass over the defence for the Tunisian. GEORGE HONEYMAN Made some ferocious challenges and showed his typical industry. Was unable to make a significant impact in attack and looks more comfortable in a central role than on the right wing as he was here. ELLIOTT EMBLETON A tough test in his first pre-season appearance as opposite number John McGinn controlled the first half tempo. Showed good composure when he did get on the ball. JOSH MAJA Not as eye-catching as in the Bury win but again showed he is an excellent dribbler, has a fierce left foot and an excellent first touch. Superb pre-season so far. WAHBI KHAZRI Outstanding in the first half, at the heart of every Sunderland attack. Drifted around the field with great awareness. Took his goal superbly. SUBS MIKA Will have been disappointed to allow Boyle’s effort, which was fired into his near post, squeeze through. ADAM MATTHEWS Caught out by the quick free-kick that sent Boyle clear for the second. He and Lens not always on the same wavelength down the right hand side. Great covering challenge at the back post prevented Hibs from getting a third. TOM BEADLING A difficult first game of pre-season for the youngster as Hibs ran amok towards the end of the game. The backline had never played together before and it showed. JOHN O’SHEA Struggled to hold an unfamiliar back line together as Hibs fought back. Was warmly received by the Sunderland fans as he warmed up at the end of the first half. BRENDAN GALLOWAY Oviedo’s international commitments saw the debutant play at left-back. Fans will have been encouraged by his speed and awareness. Did his defensive work in a tidy and unfussy fashion but will have been disappointed to let Gray cross for the equaliser. LEE CATTERMOLE Delighted the Sunderland fans by rasping the post from distance. Sat behind Ndong and Robson and looked in complete control of the game. Looks fit, confident and as combative as ever. DIDIER NDONG Understandably not at his sharpest but even on an afternoon like this, it is clear how important his energy will be in any system Simon Grayson opts for. Brings something different to the midfield. ETHAN ROBSON A peripheral figure largely but showed some good touches and a willingness to get forward. JEREMAIN LENS Started on the right side of attack and while he gave the ball away too easily, his first time strike was a reminder of his quality. REES GREENWOOD Excellent, instinctive assist for the second goal, a first time backheel to release Lens. Otherwise a little isolated on the left flank. LYNDEN GOOCH A very unfamiliar role leading the line and while far from a natural, his pace stretched Hibs at times and he combined with the midfield well.
Thanks mate. It sounds like that other website were just scapegoating the scapegoats. I think todays performance should show people that we can't just chuck the youngsters in and hope for the best. They need way more playing experience at a lower level, before we can genuinely call on them to do a job in the first team. Maja, Watmore and maybe Gooch, should be able to cement their place in the squad. The rest aren't ready, imo.
What's happened to Asoro? Weird that Gooch keeps getting played CF ahead of him when it's not his natural position and everything I've read indicates he's ****e at it.

If Grayson can get into Khazri's head and keep him, he could be massive for us! I'd like to know Grayson's thoughts on the lad, and if he's keen to keep him. The worry is Short undermines Grayson and sells him for the bucks.
Yeah I'm wondering what Grayson thinks about him, looks like he's raring to go to me and we've got bugger all other players who can make things happen like Khazri can. Certainly doesn't look like he's protesting or anything he looks up for it. At some point surely there's got to be a player that Grayson wants to keep and isn't forced to sell, it's not like we'd get silly money for Khazri he'd probably be worth more to us if we kept him.
When he first turned up I was impressed. Last year, less so. I'm hoping Moyes had a great deal to do with all that and now Grayson's told him he's got a clean slate, offered him a way out if he can impress, and we can all move on from there with a rejuvenated play maker!
I find it hard to feel sorry for footballers and I still don't for Khazri but I can understand to an extent that he would have felt badly treated by Moyes. He was bringing on players out of position rather than play him and when he did come on there was no time left in the game. Strange way to treat someone who we know can be one of the best players at the club.
I think, in time, people will start to realise that David Moyes was just as much as a disaster for our club, as Howard Wilkinson was.
