How many times have we been the last team in the league to sign a player? I seem to remember at one point we were the last team in all 4 divisions to sign anybody. As Bruce said when he left, transfer windows have become a nightmare since Ehab took over negotiations.
Might be wrong, but I thought it was Tuesday? If there's no new players joining them, then's the time to start asking serious questions about WTF is really going on. Hopefully, after a weekend tying things up, we are pleasantly surprised during tomorrow. If not, no doubt our local media will be holding them to account
Tis Tuesday apparently. Here's hoping for lots of good news tomorrow then. https://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/articles/2017/201718-slutsky-on-portugal/ Leonid Slutsky has given an insight into what his players can expect when they head to Portugal for a pre-season training camp next week. The first team squad will spend 12 days away from home as preparations for the 2017/18 season move up a notch or two and Slutsky intends to use all of the time available as he prepares his players for a ten-month Championship battle. "It is going to be a very important training camp," said Slutsky. "We will be spending a lot of time together and we will use all of this time. As well as the training sessions, we will have theoretical lessons, individual conversations and friendly matches. "These are all very important things when you are building a team. It is important for team building and for understanding each other." The Tigers head to Portugal on Tuesday and will play three pre-season fixtures before returning home on July 23rd. They face Oxford United and Bristol Rovers at Estadio da Nora in Albufeira at 6.30pm on Saturday 15th and Tuesday 18thJuly respectively, before taking on Benfica on Saturday 22nd July at Estadio Algarve (KO 8.30pm), and Slutsky is looking forward to seeing his side in action for the first time. "I'm looking forward to those games against Oxford and Bristol Rovers as they are our first games, and then with Benfica we will be coming up against a Champions League side," added Slutsky. "We will also play FC Nantes and Ajax after we have been to Portugal, and the last three matches of pre-season will be very important because it will help us to understand our level against very serious opponents."
Smacks of all the shenanigans of last year and it will be a surprise if we sign anyone in the near future. With a squad this threadbare I see relegation coming up never mind promotion back to the Premier League. Hope I am totally off base, but, past history does not bode well for the future.
So you don't think the players we have at the moment are good enough to play in the Championship? I think the lack of transfer activity is affecting people's judgement. I can't believe people are getting this annoyed on the 9th of July, no matter what we'd have done it would have been the wrong thing. If we'd made all our signings already, people would spend all Summer questioning why we aren't being more active when other teams are still buying players. If we'd made one, people would be questioning why we haven't made another one. Seriously, chill the **** out and be patient.
I thought below was a picture for the new kit ... I suspect now it is a squad photo please log in to view this image
I like positivity Driff.... good man. I have got to the point now were I am not excited about who we sign (if we ever do) Very sad times for HCAFC
A squad that has Jakupovic, Mason, Henriksen, Evandro, Clucas, Huddlestone and Hernandez in it isn't going to be lounging in mid-table.
At least four of those will be gone before we kick a ball in anger. And one of them will probably never play again.
