OP updated re Connor Olgillvie But N'Jie took forever to arrive so I ain't bloody ditching him until as late as possible!!!!
Matt Law of The Telegraph is at it again. Manchester United want Eric Dier. They want to pay less than the £50m that Daniel Levy has indicated that we want for the lad. He wants to play central midfield and is unhappy where Mauricio Pochettino is playing him. United are confident a deal will go through. This is exactly the same story he was offering up 4 or 5 months ago, word for word and yet the deal remains as illusive as ever. If I believed anything beyond the first point, I would admire his determination . However, I just don't believe that we would sell of one of our major assets who would be so difficult to replace. Dier's worth so much more than that to us by being on the pitch and far more than £50m in a market where Virgil Van Dijk is worth £70m. Alongside Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld, Christian Eriksen and Hugo Lloris he was central to our kit launch and makes the 3-4-3 work so well. I might put some money on Dier staying with us.
UPDATE THE OP please log in to view this image ...because we forgot to include Anton Walkes' loan to Atlanta United when he was sent out in January. Still, here he is scoring his first goal for the club
The Juan Foyth rumours are picking up steam, with Foyth himself saying he's interested and that his agent (a certain Juan Sebastian Veron) running the rule over a move to Europe - but not to Russia, as he turned down a move to Zenit (unlike former target and doping ban suspect Sebastian Driussi)
The annual rumours that we are interested in Mateo Kovacic have resurfaced. As per last year and the year before, I can't see this one getting very far. Firstly, he's a very good young player and Madrid would be mad to sell him. The only reasons to do such a thing would be if the player was unhappy, which he isn't, or Madrid are short of money in an attempt to buy in another Galactico. With their open courting of Mbappe that is possible but they'll be looking for top dollar for any sales such as James Rodriguez and Kovacic and we're likely to get muscled out on wages, if not on any transfer fee . Then, secondly, there's the clincher, the buy-back clause issue that kills the whole thing dead. Madrid will insist upon one and we can't be taking such young players on what amounts to a glorified loan whereby any increase we would bring in the player's value would all go back to 'you know who'. A nice idea but it ain't gonna happen.
From BBC Former England defender Sol Campbell is so frustrated by the refusal of clubs to give him a manager's job - or even an interview - that he is willing to "start at a non-league club" and work without a salary. (Observer) He doesn't need a salary, he's probably still got 30 pieces of Silver
I heard Tim Vickery, the South American football expert, talking about him. He said that he's a lovely footballer with 2 great feet who does have some defensive skills. However, and I'll write this to reflect the way he said it......................... HE DOES HAVE A MISTAKE IN HIM! Add in some laughter and you get the gist. His laughter indicated a cross between John. Stones, Fazio, Otamendi and Chris Smalling. Maybe one for the future.
This is exactly what I think will happen. In fact, we'll only have 4 senior players on our books come the start of next season, and they'll have to prise fans out of the cheese room to pull on a shirt and play for us. We'll then be relegated, fined for breaching FFP and within 3 years of this, will be expelled from the Football League. Our new stadium will then be converted into a bus depot and a small, humble monument will be erected near the fish n chips joint reading "On this site,Tottenham hotspur football club played football for 140 years. But they reached the end of the line."
Trust me I'm just as curious as you are. In fact I can barely sleep at night knowing that I could wake up the next morning to find that half our squad has moved to clubs who aren't - and I quote - "miles away from winning anything". It really isn't a healthy situation to be in and to be honest I would much prefer to go back to the good old days of mid-table mediocre when our best players were Stephen Carr and Neil Sullivan and I could go to bed at night safe in the knowledge that if Iversen played a blinder, we might just steal a point up in Bradford.
We are one of the top clubs in the PL. Did you mean any of our players could go to any of the top teams in Europe? If you did you may well be right. Very few are able to resist the lure of those teams. Many of those not required at those European teams find themselves shipped out to 'top' PL clubs. Edit In fact Los Ladrones and Barca are among the top sellers.
Saw this and it made me laugh. If you're gonna try and start a rumour, at least get your basic facts straight!
Here's a headline I'm looking forward to seeing... TalkBALLS in racism storm saying Far Eastern players all look the same ...probably a bit too wordy.
Conflicting reports this evening. Some suggesting that 19 year old Argentinian Juan Foyth deal is done, and could be announced within 48 hours. Other reports suggesting that his agent (Juan Veron) has had no contact with us, but Foyth does fancy a move to Europe. "48 hours". As Spurs fans, we know that's more likely to be 48 days. Here we go again...
As windows go, it's pretty worrying that we already have Lopez and Lemar as front-runners for the prize of wining the 2017 Spurs Summer Saga Award - and now Foyth is joining in. Meanwhile, the monthly Mateo Kovacic story is doing the rounds. Are they using my FM12 save as a source? Because that would explain a few things...
We expunge, obviously. Then us lads and lasses of Not606 will bundle together with funds and create Hotspur of Tottenham FC and apply to enter into the Vanarama South League. We'll hire a guy called Maurice Pocklington and hope he can find and entrust non-league Dele's & Harry's to help push us towards super-stardom. Pretty easy really, geezer.
