Anyone had problems with these offers banks make to switch? I stayed with the same bank (natwest) for over 40yrs but as the local branch is now staffed by rude numptys working at a snails pace I decided to switch to TSB and at the same time grab a bonus £125 by doing so via moneysupermarket's site. I checked the terms, logged in and made sure cookies were enabled before pressing the magic button to start the process. That was 6 months ago. The actual switch process was brilliant, but no £125 was forthcoming after waiting for the stated 28days. Now after spending much time and not a little £ on phone calls they have refused to pay the dosh as "no record of referral exists" . I'm switching again next week, not really about the money, more I want to have some basic trust in my bank. Lets hope the Halifax are better.
I missed out on something similar when buying insurance and it seemed I had somehow left the site and had applied directly to the website of the insurance company and no bonus was due. Was too little to matter, so I left it. May be some little box that you didn't tick.
Frying pan into the fire, I'd say. I have banked with NatWest for probably a little longer than 40 years too and not really had a moment of poor service. Can't remember a single screw-up. The online service works quite well too, as do the automated services at the branch. I would have just changed my branch, rather than change banks entirely. The only other place I'd keep money is the Nationwide Building Society, where I still haven't re-opened an account since moving to NZ back in the early nineties. Must sort that [I keep saying that though].
Well old smugface here thought he'd covered all the bases having read online how some people missed out after disabling browser cookies or using 'private' mode. Serves me right, wanting something for nothing The attitude of the customer service people just peed me off though. NatWest 'dissapeared' my branch (Southampton Uni) some years ago without telling me, It was only when I had to use a cheque I noticed I was with Swaythling! The Wimborne natwest staff were borderline human in my view.
Yes, I remember that University branch because I'd occasionally use it if I went in that direction. I still just occasionally use the Link ATM in roughly the same spot as the old branch, but there is one in the Shell station just 100 yards back up the road. My old branch used to be in Shirley, Southampton. Then, when I moved to NZ, returned and then lived in Kent, I changed my 'official' branch to one in Ashford. Still is, though I use my old Shirley branch these days. When I asked them, back in 2002, if I should change back, they said not to worry as it all worked out the same. So there it is.
Returned from my two week holiday, in Spain today. I love flying to and from Southampton Airport. Our plane took off from Alicante, at 12.05 BST, and at 14.45 BST, I'm walking through my front door. Takes the pain out of returning.
My baby girl was part of an event by the Royal Academy of Dance held at Birmingham New Street station today!! She's the one in front in both photos
You must be very proud. Genetics is a wonderful thing....I assume your wife is beautiful and talented
