Yet another myth and again something if you say it long enough everyone believes it. The PL isnt even close to being the most physically demanding in the UK let alone the world. Championship , L1 , L2 players play twice a week regularly. The precious little darlings in the PL need a rest if theres a cup game. Rangers v Celtic in the SPL is brutal. Watch clips of the old Div 1 in the middle of winter on heavy pitches where the first 11 was that(everyone available plays) and when tackles really did fly in. Now youve got a bunch of overpaid , pampered prima donnas needing breaks in the sun so they can tweet away to their followers. Its getting like the IPL.Players with no connection to the clubs they play for. Why bother even signing players anymore? May as well throw them in an auction at the beginning of the season like the cricket.
Your contempt for the P.L. and it's pampered performers, is palpable. I share your point of view. However, I am in no doubt that you want your team to get back there as quickly as possible, so your ire, whilst understandable, is a tad hollow.
I know Vetch and your right. Of course I want to get promoted and get there. I also hand over my Sky money to Murdoch. Im also going to take out an extra subsciption for BT Sport to watch the Ashes this winter. Ultimately while we all keep paying out then things wont change. Ive even paid for PPV Boxing! Then we all complain.!! I listen to the radio when driving during the day though and regularly hear the tough physical PL. Then I see 2 Championships going at it on a Tuesday the quality is lower but physically the Championship is much tougher. Then I see Rangers v Celtic!!!!!!!!!! Now that is tough and brutal.
By the way I think we are about 25-1 to regain our Championship Trophy. Best striker in the league , solid defence , couple of midfielders to come in and there are worse bets out there.
Rangers definately. Celtic play some decent stuff. I dont think the PL is that much lower on quality than the top leagues if lower at all. Its just that the PL top clubs havent managed to buy the Champions League for a while. Therefore you now get this sh!t about mid season breaks etc , how they are all tired etc. Its just the real top stars would prefer to be in the sun in Spain playing for Barca or Real.
There will, in all probability, be a dozen or so teams in the mix for promotion, and I see no reason why Cardiff won't be amongst them. A solid opening few months should set you up nicely. Start off struggling, and it tends to continue. The Championship is a long, hard slog at the best of times. Who is the striker you refer to ? Has Jon Parkin come back ?
The Championship have 46 games the PL 38 , considering it's in the main PL teams which go onto win their cup matches and are in two European championships starting their season earlier then I'd say it balances out over the season so saying they play regularly twice a week is a bit of a falsehood .Citing Rangers and Celtic as brutal theres plenty of other fixtures at lower league level which could be described as equally the same. There's not many leagues you can watch truly world class players along side average players thats what makes it exciting to see my Club players up against the likes of Costa , Hazzard, and the like and competing with them . I know what I'd rather watch and it's not some clogger from the lower leagues thats for sure .
No nothing of this guy, could be a good signing on the other hand could be another complete waste of money. Lib as you say it is a lottery. I just hope if we do sign it isn't Llorentes replacement, would be another cheap option. Lets wait and see. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...to-striker-vincent-aboubakar-swansea-13304971
Everton have just signed Rooney on a free but in reality means about £10 million pounds. Does this mean they are less likely to keep pursuing Gyfi and if he was to join them dies this increase the likelehood of him being a bench player.
Rooney may have indicated thats where he'd like to finish his career so I can't see the interest in Gylfi diminising & to be honest If he does go I couldn't care less if he ends slopping out the toilets
So was bastons and so was Gomis, but they didn't exactly do to good either. I suppose any signing is a risk, just would like to see effort put into the one we have here who we know can score goals for us. Rather than sell and try and replace. We haven't replaced Bony till last season and hope we don't have to wait another 2 seasons to replace Llorente. Still hoping he stays.
Haven't they already signed that player from Ajax? Also, Barkley is still there and now Rooney. If Gylfi goes there he's fighting with 3 others for the number 10 position. I can't see him leaving us.
Plus La Liga is a far easier league where the majority of clubs just roll over for the top 4/5 clubs. You don't get teams rolling over in the PL.
PL clubs also have to deal with players jetting off to international friendlier/games every 6 weeks or so. PL clubs in Europe also have to deal with 2 days turn around because of tv demands for live games etc. Rangers v Celtic is like watching a promotion chasing club in the championship play Cardiff
