Has the other player had any charge after officials have viewed the footage? [edit] RAMAGE! [edit] or Gabbidon. (less chance of scoring own goal at left back)
even though petrov grabbed hill and should have got at least a yellow, the FA cant ban someone retrospectively if they werent booked or sent off on the field. Hill had a completely moronic moment and deserves this ban to teach him to calm down in future
I think we have a ready made replacement but he will need a little persuading, with a little practice he could make this position his own Hogan Ephraim. After all he always does alot of covering to help Clint when he is picked. What do you think?
Yes but that doesn't mean he's weak. He uses his strength. Ephraim will be off the ball before you've touched him, usually.
Have a little faith he probably will never be given the chance, but I see it as an option. I also predicted that Mackie would play right back and shot down for that one as well, hoo humm!
Ephraim does have pace, though... and I guess he should be given the chance to use his weight a bit more. Mackie was a decent shout. He was still inexperienced. It's a shame that after a whole season in the Champ and a new one now in the Prem, we don't have a real backup.
Not so - the reverse is true. If the referee saw the incident and punished it on the field with a yellow (for example) the FA can't determine after the fact that it should have been a red. Things that are missed on the field and go unpunished can be dealt with afterwards, but not if the referee sees it, adds it to his report, and decides on a punishment (even if that decision is "it's OK").....
We need to get a left back and right back ASAP. Before Saturday against Everton or we will more than likely be looking at 0 points from our first two games.
Fans called for fullbacks as our priority signings..... we lose both our incumbent fullbacks in the first game of the season! Typical!!! If that's not a kick in the *uts for our transfer policy I don't know what is!
Most probably, but I am not suggesting he will turn into a good LB overnight but he has pace and that can camouflage a lack of experience, plus as an emergency it might be worth a go. If he wants to play more often for us he needs to look at this type of option as long as he is capable. Personally I think Gabbidon should work better there and play our usual Connelly/Gorkss at CB at least for Saturday.
Good shout with Ephraim at LB, do agree he has zero strength and would get raped at this level. Gotta be Connolly as it stands, don't wanna even contemplate Borrowdale, the thought gives me the ****s. Back 4 of Orr, Gabby, Hall and Connolly is serious trouble... I'm gonna make sure I've drank plenty before the game sats
