I genuinely believe in terms of raw talent Rooney was up there with the very best England have ever produced. I can't think of another English player who was as good as Rooney as a teenager. Rooney was every bit as good as Ronaldo when they where both 18 and 19, you could even say he was actually better. Ronaldos biggest strength has always been his dedication to keep getting better, he's obsessed with improving as a player. If Rooney even had half the attitude that Ronaldo had, then he'd probably be regarded as the best English player of all time, and he'd still be a world class player today. Rooney has had the complete opposite attitude, and it says it all that at the age of 31 we are pretty much giving him away for free. Yeah he's had a very good career, but with the talent he had as a youngster you can't help but feel it could have been so much better.
Rooney's confirmed as an Everton player. Good luck to him on his return to his original club. The best club in Merseyside. Millstone around United s neck removed. Thanks to him for all his contributions. He contributed to our wins and he was well rewarded for it.
Nothing to lose from Koeman's view. He gets an experienced player for free and could still do a job playing possibly fewer games. He may decide to lose weight to fit his pyjamas he has been wearing when he was 3 stones lighter, who knows?
That would really be rubbing it in. After Lukaku, that's the player they had been chasing most. If he comes to United, Conte will throw his toys out of the pram. The chav board will be full of " we've dodged a scud missile here" ...
United will be unrecognisable from the team of only a couple of years ago. Not a bad thing. We could have 2 teams of "almost" equal strength...
Why are Monaco's best players being linked with Liverpool? It's be like Mac Miller leaving Ariana Grande to shag Gemma Collins.
