At the end of the day if Andy wanted to stay, he could of just said no.

Said that he doesn't want to hand a transfer request in.

And doesn't want to talk to Liverpool.

Even if Ashley did 'push' him it makes no difference. It's Carroll that did this and I hope to god he fails badly and ends up regretting this badly.

There really is no loyalty in football anymore :(

Totally agree Ashley Pardew and the TW@T with the glasses have let us down on this one. They knew we were not gonna be able to get in a replacement and still let him go.

Andy didn't have to agree personal terms. He chose them over us. Or more precisely, their money over us. Hopefully he'll wind up being their latest Heskey.

You don't want a player who's head has been turned. What would of happened if he had a really bad second half to the season because of this? And then we can only sell him for 20million in summer.

This is all Carroll or it wouldn't have happened.

Have to agree with Toon_fuddle here, there's only so much that can be done from each party.

I'm grateful he's gone for 35 mil, and not 18-20.

I think to blame Ashley and Pardew here would be very harsh under these circumstances- 35 million is very good money (+ ADD ONS?...)

Probably the wrong time to admit, but I don't seem to mind Pardew, he seems pretty decent and seems to know what he's doing? (i hope?)

The biggest pain here is that it's happened so late that we probably won't be able to get a good, long term replacement in until the summer by the looks of things; however i think we've proven we can do without carroll so far this season to ensure safety.

Carroll will live to regret this, he has let a lot- a hell of a lot of people down this evening and people don't forget!

To me Redknapp seemed more annoyed / flipant as Spurs never had a bid accepted. I don't blame Pardew, don't blame Ashley if what we read is true - looks like it may be best for the club if Andy wanted out. Whether what we read is the truth, who knows.
