I think some from the blue side of 'pool are just taking the p*ss out of their red chums. Not sure VVD would see Everton as anything other than an escape route from us. His ego deserves Champions league at least.

I don't get why Liverpool fans feel that Virgil is madly in love with them and is desperate to come to them. He thought he could get a move, liked Liverpool's style and fancied playing for Klopp who was no doubt smarming all over him....he was not born a Liverpool fan who would never willingly sign for anyone else. He's no doubt disappointed, but may be quite happy to play for another season at Saints or sign for another club if the money was right. Liverpool does not run through his veins.

 

I think they are (rightly) annoyed at their club that a good player who was most likely attainable now isn't coming to them because of how stupidly they went about the signing

Cannot see us selling to Everton, they are the team we're trying to catch.

 

Indeed, I think they will make an excellent rabbit this season. If we are above them come end of season 2017-18 we will either have done very well indeed or Koeman will be out of a job for the wrong reasons, or both.

If our finishing, last season had been a few notches above "can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo", we quite possibly would have been closer to them than we were, at season's end.
Everton, by all accounts, had a good season. Can they improve on it, without a guaranteed 20+ goals per season forward?
I don't see any reason why we can't run them a lot closer than last season, or even finish above them, if we get it right up front.

 

In truth we were appalling in front of goal. I can't think of a 'lucky one'. Most were where the extremely clever football actually came together, or we scored from a set piece. And we didn't do that often. That lack of quality strikers haunted us all season.

 

With all jokes aside, early reports were that the fact Liverpool went public it prevented anyone else bidding! A fresh bid, close to our valuation will 100% be considered,hopefully it's the shredder that considers it!
