I'm torn on Gallagher. It seems unlikely that he is better than Gabbiadini or Austin, and time will tell if he is as good as Long. I'm not sure having a pretty limited role here is better than being first choice elsewhere
Primarily because they are realists. They know that despite their size they simply cannot compete with PL money. Subsequently they are dependent upon a similar strategy to ours in terms of unearthing talent and selling it on. They appreciate that we recognise the quality in their squad. They appreciate how we conduct ourselves and my particular local (s) are full of Saints "fans" when the PL is on instead of the SPL.
Fair enough. I guess it may be a bit different to our situation as Liverpool are competing with us, whereas we are in a different, superior, league to Celtic. Plus I imagine the fact they keep winning everything means they aren't too bothered about losing the odd player.
And they may well be about to win another four titles without kicking a ball! May not go out for a pint on the night that happens....
In Tadic's case I suspect you're right. Dunno about Boufal though. We haven't seen nearly enough to judge imo.
Posted on the other teams transfer thread but thought I'd mention here as I know a lot of people were hopeful (if not optimistic). Lots of noise that Iheanacho to Leicester is all but done. £22.5m rising to £29m.
Why? Can't see any of the top clubs wanting him and apparently wants to stay in PL so leaves the likes of Leicester, West Ham etc.
In a way I'd agree, he's very talented and his goals to mins ratio is astounding for a player of his age. But he's no where near the finished product yet, and if he's got his head screwed on probably realises being the main man in a midtable side will be the best thing for him and will get a big move then. He's probably not gonna get a look in at City so if he moves but stays in England who's he going to go to? Everton probably the best he can hope for.
If you're a striker wanting near guaranteed football, Leicester are an attractive proposition because they often play with a front two
That's a cracking signing in my opinion. Price is a tad high, but then all prices are high this window.
Plus their striking options are Vardy, Slimani and Okazaki. Any half decent player must fancy their chances with them.
And by all accounts they're about to shift Mahrez off the wage bill. (And with Vardy still on their wage bill, the top end of what they can pay without making him their highest earner is presumably higher than a lot of other mid table clubs - if Vardy did get the sort of pay rise last summer, along with Mahrez, that was mooted)
Arsenal have an issue, with the signing of Lacazette they now have no room in the squad to register and non home grown player, so they need to offload if they want Mahrez. Rumours are that Perez and Debuchy will be off soon enough though.
Because Vardy and Okazaki are so poor. I mean, you'd never win the league with they two up front would you?!
Does that mean I don't need to dust off my favourite hat? There was me about to start writing my schedule for practicing eating my hat. Damn these players have no god damn respect for any fee paying fan anymore
Are there any incoming rumours of note? This is the quietest I have known it from the various self proclaimed ITK brigade
Most real ITK have had their sources leave the club in recent seasons, so any real info has pretty much dried up. Club seems to keep a very tight grasp on what information comes out now.
