I don't think that is even possible. If they don't have citizenship of another country then they can be deported back here anyway. Also there would have to be a court case which would involve them being able to defend themselves. Unless you are saying that you would be happy with a law under which the Govt could make unchallenged rulings on who was a citizen while they were out of the country. That is a very dangerous route. The Govt can make mistakes and innocent people will suffer. They are already breaking the law if they are acting as terrorists so just arrest them when they get back, try them and get them locked up. How is that 'soft'.

It just has to be said, but Islam in the UK is taking a beating right now because people don't feel they are doing enough to prevent radicalisation. The main difference is that Christianity was the prevailing religion of Europe, Europe has progressed since the middle ages, less and less people buy in to the bibles bullshit. Islam, however, is prevalent in the Middle East, where progressiveness, has been, shall we say, less forthcoming. people still take their books and scriptures at face value. At its core its not a religious problem, it's a cultural one.
