Have to say that although Everton have made some good signings, i can't help but feel they are just similar ones to the guys we bought during the first exodus, but just at today's inflated prices. Rooney is a great player on his day but he really is on the way down now.
Think that's more then fair. He's scored something like 86 PL goals and he is only 24 years old, in mainly average to good teams too. Would say that £65-£70 million is a fair price for VVD now.
Agree on Brighton, been very quiet seeing as they were the first team promoted. As for Pelle I'd say he was Rons fav rather than a big name. Don't see Wayne being one of his favs.

Yeah think it just cements them in 7th really, which they were pretty far clear of everyone else anyway. Don't see them making up much ground on the top 6
Cardiff City have announced that Rickie Lambert’s contract has been terminated by mutual agreement. The former England international has been linked with a move to Plymouth. (Sky)
Interested to see how Lukaku gets on if he moves to Utd, my personal feeling is he will be a bit of a flop, don't think he is good enough for a top side
Everton going for Rooney is a smart move. Not for his on-field play but more for his effect off the pitch. With his name in the squad suddenly Everton are 'on the map', so to speak, and considering Everton probably have the best academy in the country right now, he could really be an important figure to have at the club to inspire all their young 'uns.
I agree, there's been so much hype over him for years calling him next Drogba etc. but I've always said he's a very good striker but not in the top bracket. Never will be either imo.
