Loved Sami. He went a whole season without getting a single yellow card, the lad was a player. Great positioning, read the game well, great in the air, got goals, pace of a dead snail.

Last 25-30 yrs probably. Overall not sure. We have been blessed with some serious quality at this club.
Top player. Best CB I've seen at Liverpool just ahead of Carra. Still remember him crying when being paraded round anfield on the shoulders of team mates after his last game. True pro. Shame he did such a **** job in management at Brighton a few years back and almost got them relegated.

You would be right in fairness. Since 1990 I would say it's a lock that both are top of the list. I mean hysen arrived and won league then left Wright was bought and immediately was injured And then there was piechik the Danish captain who was ****ing awful. Ruddock, babb, scales... Evans idea of a back 3.
Thing is we haven't won the league since 1990, overall the standard of player is very low compared to the years we were dominating domestically and in Europe.
Yes, it's not like in 1990s that we were not reasonably close a couple times but the difference in quality was stark. Ruddock was a fat unprofessional pudding, babb wasn't bothered and scales I dunno, limited.... Hyppia was the guy we waited 10 years for. Hell Steve Staunton was playing cb for us!
Agreed, still like @donga darko said, I don't think he gets close to our greats. And to be honest without being harsh I think he'd struggle to make top 10 premier league centre halves let alone top 10 ever Liverpool players in our history.
Top ten ever or top 10 since 1992... I'd put him top 20 for off, but only Gerrard and him and for longevity... and a triple and a cl win. Hyppia ticks a lot of boxes. I suppose picking a 22 man squadhaving him as one of 4 cha would be a push thinking on it that way though.....
