Apparently Liverpool have moved on from VVD: https://www.rousingthekop.com/2017/07/05/liverpool-make-14-9m-bid-ligue-1-centre-back/
Liverpool trying to get fans to stop buying Red Bull until RB Leipzig sell them Keita The club that keeps on giving
"However, Mammana – who is contracted to the French club until 2021 – is said to be awaiting permission from his current employers to speak to Liverpool personally, preferring for a deal to be agreed between the two clubs before entering negotiations." Remember the official line everybody
I honestly feel if Klopp could swallow his pride, they'd have a better CB than they are going to buy. Hope the drama rumbles on though, for personal reasons.
I see that Messi has blown his chance of joining Saints by signing an extension to his contract at Barcalona. Such an opportunity missed by him... he will be too old for us in 2021 for us to seriously consider him. Okay, should have coloured it blue...
I read that Rickie Lambert might just be on his way to Plymouth Argyle after being told that he is surplus at Cardiff City. Blimey, if Arygle get Rickie they'll get a superb player at that level. If I was the manager, I'd make Rickie, at 35, my Andrea Pirlo. No great running around, just pulling the strings with exquisite passing and standing at the back post during attacking corners. He could last another 3-4 years doing that.
Huddersfield sign Scott Malone. They've made a considerable number of additions, none which I feel are actually good premier league signings.
Think Hudders will definitely go back down tbh. Will be in good stead for another promotion attempt though.
It looks likely on paper, but Burnley have a few players I'd say are championship but their unity (home form) and ability to stick to a game plan kept them up. Could be the same.
As I say, building themselves a solid Championship squad for 2018/19. Not exactly short term survival planning, but could be good medium term planning. Make themselves into a WBA yo-yo club of the mid to late 2000s.
