Looks like it's happening then, If he does return to them, He's not going to rediscover his goal scoring touch in my opinion, He's past it, I mean, Jamie Carragher had him in his pocket in Michael Carrick's testimonial, his reputation as a top player is gone personally.

I suspect that he will hit form at the beginning of the season and we'll all throw our hands in the air on here saying we should have kept him. Then the inevitable will happen and his form will dip, instead of goals he will show 'willingness' in order to get the support of the Everton fans and show he has 'the club's blood in his veins' etc etc etc. It will be a short-lived revival.

Rooney's problems are beyond just goal scoring. His physical condition has been battered by years of neglect. Smoking, eating junk etc. You look at him and you look at Cristiano Ronaldo and it tells you all you need to know.

I don't see him reversing that but Everton would love to welcome him back with publicity the number factor, then his experience as a leader from Manchester United. I wish him the best and he'll always be a Manchester United legend in my books.

Woodward is an absolute shambles of a Chief Exec, no other top club would put up with the **** he serves up.

I wonder if Martial will be getting his number 9 shirt back since Zlatan's off the books.

    Give Rashford Rooney's number.

7 would probably have been Griezmann's number... that's still free, that's the big one.

@Matth_2014 will you be genuinely excited if we sign any of the players we are linked with? Or would you be disappointed if we don't sign any of them perhaps?

I was only disappointed with Griezmann not signing to be honest, the rest I couldn't care less about, none of them will turn us into the best team in Europe, individually or collectively. It just seems to me like our ambitions are lower than ever.

It now seems that it will be loan move only. At least it frees up his massive wage bill.

Only United could release our record goalscorer who is 31 years old for what will probably end up being a loss.

    "Get him off the books".

Why? So we can give players like Lingard £100k a week.

Get Woodward off the books ffs.

If we're not selling him for actual money, I don't see the point.
