Yes, great work. You "identify" the best CB in the Premiership (that might just be available) and the best young CM in Germany (spotted by Klopp if reports are correct).That won't have taken much thought and clearly no thought given about how to sign them.

Sakho returns to training - but departure still expected
You may have noticed that Mamadou Sakho is one of the players returning to Melwood for pre-season tests today.
Unfortunately for the Frenchman, his time at Liverpool is very nearly at an end, with the Reds still keen to sell the defender this summer.
According to several reports, Sakho has an agreement with Crystal Palace, where he spent a successful loan spell in the second half of last season, with Frank de Boer’s outfit hoping that the Reds will drop their £30m asking price in order to make a move viable.
Sakho has been back at Melwood a little earlier than most in recent weeks, returning to work on his fitness ahead of today.

Leipzig are standing firm over the 22-year-old, with the Bundesliga giants demanding a massive £70m for any deal to be struck.

But The Gambling Times claim Liverpool are progressing on their raid for Keita.

Liverpool want to sign Guinean international and Leipzig star Naby Keita, the world knows that much by now.

More than two weeks back, the Merseysiders signed Mohamed Salah from Roma and since then, they have been wasting time in the transfer window.

The Gambling Times’ football insider Graeme Bailey, who used to cover exclusives for Goal.com in the past published an exclusive article yesterday and claimed that the German sources believe that the £70million rated star wants to join Liverpool.

He further stated that as per sources, Liverpool are prepared to splash 50 million pounds (€57million) to agree his signing but do not want to pay more than that.

i've been predicting that since Jan so not disappointed just resigned to it.
Bit like @jaffaklopp cannot understand how we hadn't identified and had at very least done the spadework on a quality LB rather than as seems likely the readily available cheapish but limited option.

Maybe Klopp sees Robertson as the required quality, he has a track record of doing this. Our signings don't have to be big names or big fees.

Honestly I think we're not going to get anyone bigger than Salah this summer. Keita, VvD both have the aura of our usual pursue all summer and not get transfers.

May be one or two small transfers but we're probably about done.

There is no reason why that should be the case, he must see something in Robertson. The player isn't signed yet of course.
