My thing with Mushy peas and gravy came from my mum's (god rest her) Sunday dinners.Pre soaked mushy peas with the gravy on top. Them days Yorkshire puddings we had on a separate plate before the main dinner. Awesome.
I just had haddock n chips from kingfisher on spring bank near halfway pub. The fish was ****ing disgusting. I may be off work a few days it was that bad.
Really?? Kinell it was rank. Yes they did beans. Conclusive proof of a **** chippy. Wish I'd waited for knobhead round the corner in Dundee, but he had about ten in his queue. That takes a good half an hour while he bores you to death, one at a time.
If you're eating on-the-hoof, what's the best form of cutlery - and crucially, does it impact on the taste? Wooden fork (usually free) Plastic fork (circa 2p or are my prices out?) Or your own fingers/fenders? Personally, I'd go for a wooden fork/fingers (on the fish) combo approach.
Tripadvisor quote: "Best Fish and Chips in Hull Yes I've tried nearly all the chippy's in Hull and Kingfisher is consistently the best and great value! I recommend kingfisher to everyone"
Wooden forks are for losers, harlots and Welshmen. It's a good quality plastic fork for me every time. And I've never paid for one. Ever. I just turn on the Ernie charm and score a free one. Or get a spork upgrade.
Gratis or not, the plastic fork’s a bit too space age for me. Also, even though I've been there before, it does smack of decadence.
