Some steady signings been made by other clubs.

Under normal circumstances I would agree with you 100% but knowing what a nob we have doing our deals doesn't fill me with any confidence. Ehab isn't waiting because he wants the right players, he's doing to save money on wages and line his pockets. He's proved that over the last few transfer windows.

The more players he sells, the worse the club looks and the harder it is to attract players.

If he pulls out a couple of decent signings in the next week then maybe you're right. I won't hold my breath...

Well said mate. My thoughts exactly.

I would prefer waiting, get the backroom set, identify targets, then get QUALITY players in

I'd be well happy with £22m.

    Probably bollocks.

We signed that Lee Darnbrough bloked didn't we as head of recruitment? He's the guy doing the deals so that Ehab doesn't have to. Ehab will no doubt be instructing, but presumably LD will be doing the leg work.

The players that have gone so far and are being linked are players we didn't really expect to stick around anyway. We knew Maguire would go, Robertson and Grosicki we assumed would go and probably will and Curtis going got rid of a player we barely used last season anyway and was probably going to be replaced either way.

I expect a couple in this week, probably on loan. The manager actually has a very good reputation on the continent, so I'm not really worried about him attracting players.

Thing is sterling LD has been here 10 days but the majority of leg work should have been done by Ehab. LD should be playing catch up not kick starting the process.
Do you think we'd have got a head of recruitment if silva had stayed?

Well you have more faith Ehab's grand plan than I do. I don't trust a thing he does or a word he says.

I think we'll start the season short on players again and we'll be frantically searching for players in the last two days of the transfer window again.

Nothing has happened at our club to make me think otherwise or to make me think we are biding our time waiting for the right players.

I would love to be proved wrong!!

Yes. Because I don't think Ehab can be arsed doing it in the Championship. Nobody is watching him for starters.

I do aswell so Ehab should have appointed a head of recruitment long before he did so that come the end of the season they had targets and had done the leg work. Things are going to change I accept that or players will become available at last minute but the majority should be lined up. Instead what really happens we are scratching around on deadline day.

I remember Ehab in one of his staged interviews saying he does everything with the long term in mind, he prefers long term but in reality its the opposite

It's not Ehab's plan I have faith in, it's the manager he has brought in. If we had got somebody like Grayson or Pearson, I'd have accepted that we were just consolidating. But you don't convince somebody like Leo to come to the Championship unless you are serious about getting back up to the Premier League. Slutsky took CSKA to a new level in Europe and while they were already big in Russia, he made them solid contenders in the Champion's League group stages. He's managed a pretty decent national side as well. These sorts of managers don't tend to bother coming unless they have guarantees that they can get backing and that the ambition is there. I'd be willing to bet we weren't the only club interested in Leo, but he chose us.

Ehab said we have a competitive budget and that was before we sold Maguire, I don't think he'd say that on camera knowing it was a lie as it's not something he can cover up. If he lies, he does it discretely. We saw in the last Summer window that leaving it until the last minute is detrimental in so many different ways; Ehab is a tard, but he isn't full tard to the point at which he would make the same mistake twice.

I reckon Rehab is trying to get into the Guinness book of Records, 'The fewest squad members at the start of a football season' record.
He's going the right way about it.

Hold it he already hold's the record, ....£uckwit

But our recruitment team won't be sat there doing nothing and be told to wait until August 30th, which is what some people are worried about. Leo said himself that the negotiations are already underway with several targets. That isn't waiting, that's acting.

The 2 lads that Sunderland have just signed from Everton would have been good. Other than them though you're right. We've 2 months left of the window and like some others have said, Slutsky wouldn't have come without assurances of signings. As much as i wish otherwise, this int Football Manager. Sticking Player A alongside Player B won't necessarily win us the league. All this takes time.
Anyways, I've got a Champions League final to win with Yeovil. I'm off.

The thing you have to keep on mind is the Allams are greedy and want top dollar for the club they want us in the prem to get maximum price for us they will invest because they have to otherwise they don't get what they want

They had 2 groups of Chinese owners ready to buy had we stayed up they still would buy us now but not at the price the Allams want so they're putting plans in place to get us back
we need players yes but not just anyone we need some quality in the signings otherwise there's no point

But up until 10 days ago our recruitment team was Ehab. Ehab wanted his business done early so what has he been doing? He's failed to meet his own timescale. Like I said things change players change their minds etc so I accept the chances of getting all their targets in on the timescale he set was unlikely but he hasn't got any in. LD might have started the process now but as we've seen other clubs are further down the line, once again we are playing catch up because Ehab couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery

Just because he got assurance's from Ehab it doesn't mean he'll actually get them.

I can see his next staged interview now...

'We sold all those players for multi millions of pounds to re-invest but unfortunately the players we wanted weren't available and there wasn't enough time in the window to get these players over the line'

A handful of loanees and the odd token signature signing and the Allams pocket the rest.

Why would the Everton lads have been good? Galloway only featured 3 times in a West Brom squad which only contained one left back Nyom and he's not particularly good. And Browning was in an out of the Preston side. I'd have been majorly disappointed if we would have signed them.
