Have they offered it to you as well? I thought I was in there, I'd better be on my A game for the interview then.
Usually when a club offers a price it's a figure they are willing to accept. Unfortunately it also encourages the other clubs that they are willing to sell so they continue to unsettle the player. And it makes the player feel he's no longer wanted and he begins to seek the move himself.
My assistants boyfriend works for Skybet and apparently someone who they think works for Liverpool put a large bet on Robertson signing for them yesterday.
dont know i mentioned on twitter earlier that it had gone v quiet nothing from hull, fulham or chelsea
Grosicki apparently doesn't have a release clause but does have a gentlemans agreement that we will let him go for a reasonable fee. What that would be worth with Ehab in charge I have no idea. If it's true I would guess Grosicki refused to have a wage reduction (or a meaningful reduction) so we refused to give him a release.
I've no doubt Grosicki would want to keep in the Sky League anyway. It's a puzzle though if clubs are interested because he's proved absolutely nothing at that level at this point. You could really say the same of someone like Robertson. And Silva failed with his away tactics, yet Watford took him. I suppose hype trumps track record. At this point we are still awaiting evidence that the Allams aren't cashing in. Not saying they definitely are, but we need contrary evidence.
I would say we are in more of a mess than them. Manager appointed and fresh players in. We don't even have an assistant manager yet do we? More players on the way out and looking like another year where we have no players incoming until the final 48 hours of the transfer window. We'll get hammered at Villa opening game at this rate with our team of youngsters. Didn't think I would be saying this but I'd rather be in Sunderlands position then ours right now. We need players in and fast.
Seriously, what is going on with our transfer windows? Past couple of summer transfer windows have been pathetic. Is it true we're the only Championship team to not sign a player yet?
IT'S JULY. THE FOURTH. We need the right players in, not just some players. If getting top level players means waiting until a week before our first game then I hope we don't sign anybody for the next two fortnights. Some people love the buzz of a new player more than thinking about how much of an impact they'll actually have. And they beadily watch other clubs scurry around signing no marks and misfits and get jealous because we haven't signed anybody yet. Expect signings over the coming weeks. There'll be trialists too no doubt. If you don't have the patience, you're following the wrong club.
I doubt if FdB has gone to Palarse so he can sign players like Grosicki.. If so that's a marriage made in hell and will unwind quicker than a pair of Primark shreddies.
Most other clubs seem to have made signings of players they had targeted. They haven't just stuck a pin in a panini sticker album and thought - lets sign him!
I think it's safe to assume the targets we are going for are slightly higher profile and will therefore take a little bit more convincing. We could have signed pretty much any of the players that have already gone to other clubs, can you honestly say you're jealous of any of them?

Roberts from Barnsley would have been decent as would Boyd back on a free. There's been some good overall business by Championship clubs. Danny Ward to Cardiff from Rotherham is another good signing. They'd all have improved some of our current deficiencies.
The only thing I think is wrong about this is the club had been working on signings before silva left, Ehab said he wanted his business done early. Regardless of time enough work should have been done to know if these players are interested or not (they may well be) and if they are they should have been here early as Ehab wanted. The dof or head of recruitment should have been in place sooner in order to help with the recruitment process not a week or 2 before Ehab wants his players in Lenny wanted 90% of his squad in place for pre season including signings. So it appears him and Ehab were on the same page and didn't want last pre season repeating so on that basis they have failed because players should have been identified and be here, not all but a good proportion
